Old rock song (70s) I want to identify. Can you help me?
OK. I can understand almost nothing of the lyrics. If I did, I'd google any phrase between quotes plus "lyrics", like I did with many old songs. But here I don't have any of the lyrics -- except the fact that the chorus sounds SOMEWHAT like this:

I feel our boys will make a run on rock'n'roll
I feel our boys will make a run on rock'n'roll
I feel our boys will make a run on rock'n'roll, oh, oh

The tempo is, to the best I can evaluate, exactly half a second. 8 tempos (4 seconds) elapse between the same point in successive lines. (There's one "empty" tempo between the "roll" and the "feel" in the next line) The final "roll" and the oh's are in successive tempos. (i.e. half a second apart)

I know, this is hardly correct musician jargon, but I hope it helps. Come on, mock me. I want to know how ridiculously off the mark I was with the lyrics.

3. Wait while I google... ah, Kiss. No, the chorus sounds different.
Although it COULD be a Kiss song. Maybe.

4. No... likely, the word "boys" isn't there at all. I'm pretty sure about "rock'n'roll", "oh oh", and
the three-times repetition of the verse.

7. Is it "Drift Away" by Dobie Gray?
"Gimme the beat boys and free my soul, I wanna get lost in your rock-n-roll and drift away?"

Just a guess...

15. Need more clues.
Edited on Thu Aug-23-07 11:42 AM by BurtWorm
1) Is the key minor or major? (Sad or happy?)

2) Is it from the early hippie influenced 1970s, the mid glam influenced 70s, or the late punk influenced 70s?

3) Is it an anthem, like the Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again?" Is it bombastic, heavyish metal?

4) Is it British or American? Or Canadian? Or Australian? Or other?

5) Are a lot of people singing the chorus, or just one screeching lead singer?

16. Sounds American, non-punk heavy. Think "Gonna Rock'n'Roll All night" by Kiss with a slower tempo.
Lots of people sing the chorus. One person sings the non-chorus.

If I manage to be alone in this room, I can sing it (oh my) and send it to you.

17. Put it on YouTube!
I'll bet you'll become a star!

You know, I was thinking of Gonna Rock'N'Roll All Night. But now I'm thinking maybe it was The Green Angels singing this song:
