1. thank god
for me it took forever to pass. I think this was the longest summer ever, because of the unrelenting heat and no rain...I got all excited thinking it was gonna storm tonight and got the rain barrels in position under the gutter spouts and then nothing. :(

2. I wish we could have sent you some of our rain.
Hope fall is better in the rain department.

Last year we were dry and this year underwater.

5. Our summer except for a few days was normal.
Last year I let the yard go and just watered the garden.

The rain pattern has been bad this year, either too much or to little.

I hope rain and cool air comes your way soon.

4. It was 60-something here for the past few days. In NYC.
Not. Supposed. To happen.

I'm a summer boy, so I'm gonna miss those hot days. Autumn's cool and stuff but I love my summer days when I get to go to a ball game, sit outside at 9pm with a beer and fries watching some baseball.

7. It will be another month before we can even think of cooler weather.
September is still hot.

8. I was in Dallas a couple of weeks ago for a convention.
Edited on Tue Aug-21-07 09:44 PM by JackBeck
When I walked outside during a 15 minute break, I freakin' melted.

And I thought the NYC subways during a heatwave were bad. At least Dallas didn't have the smell.

9. You were there in that terrible 110 or more heat.
We had 109 here in Houston, forget going outside during the day.

Normal temps are a little cooler around 90 or so.

10. Dammit, I hate fall.
I like the turning of the leaves as much as anybody, but I abhor autumn as the harbinger of winter. Those first grim nights when you can feel the chill creep into the air, just full of dread. Say what you will about anthropogenic climate change, but it at least makes for a warm indian summer...

13. I can't wait for the fall/winter...my two favorite months...
No more mowing of grass, or sweating...I dislike summer a great deal(at least summers in MO).

14. I was just thinking the same thing
Just heard a flock of geese honking overhead. That's a sure sign we're in the home stretch, even though we'll get about four or five more weeks of summer weather. We've had gray skies and VERY cool temps the past few days, but it's supposed to jack back up into the high 80s starting tomorrow.

I'm with you, TW--I LOVE fall--my favorite season!

:woohoo:
