1. Actually Journey thinks I am the reason they don't make any money!

back in the 80's I went to a appearance of Steve Perry at a local record store. I took some photos of Him and Journey and was selling them (along with other artists). I have done this since forever.

Steve Perry drives up in his Lambourghini, bends down and snorts a huge line of coke and gets out of the car. he sees me and makes a bee line for me. Starts yelling at me about copyrights and all that shit. wants to take my phots away, my name etc. (keep in mind that I shot them legally). Then he tells me that I am the reason that he can't make money in the music business.

Finally I tell him "Well Steve I got some news for you, I haven't sold on fucking photo of you or your lame ass band EVER but I did sell a couple of Jerry Garcias today". That shut him up. Pretty funny.

On the flip sdie of this, at a Willie Nelson show at San Jose Spartan stadium, I was ousdie selling some shots of Willie (and other artists). I hear a voice saying "Those are some great shots" and look back and it IS WILLIE! I am thinking, NOT AGAIN!. he asks me how much I am getting for them (3 bucks, 4 for ten for 8X10's). he picks some out and tries to pay me for them. It ell him no I could not accept his money but he insists! Now that is so cool.

Same thing with Styx. I was in the lot selling photos at the Cow Palace and they had licensing cops bust me. Demanded my negatives the whole deal. Sent them copy negs. And a note that told their attorneys that I have never sold one photo of them ever. But I did sell a bunch of Jerry Garcias and Kiss photos that night. Never heard a word from them again.

The Grateful dead were cool. they knew me and I did this for years. that was my deal, sell a few photos, get into the show and get high etc. When the GD had troubles with the people ripping them off they left me alone. They told me I was cool cuz I was not just GD, I sold SRV, Muddy, Willie, Kiss AC/DC etc.
