Poll question: Best Beatles Album
In terms of the Album with the best music not social importance, What's your favorite?

1. "Abbey Road"

And I think side B is perhaps the best sequence of songs ever released on LP. "Abbey Road" is sheer perfection, with the Beatles going somewhat back to basics in terms of the roots quality of some of the tracks but retaining the technical wizardry and layers they worked so hard on for "Sergeant Pepper."

I'd probably pick the 'white album' as my second favorite from the Beatles.

16. "Mean Mr. Mustard" -> "Golden Slumbers" sounds like aimless filler to me
But to each his own. :D "You Never Give Me Your Money", however, rules.

3. I can't choose between most of them
St Peppers might seem the cloche choice but there's damn good reason for choosing it.

I think I play the White Album the most out of my own collection.

But part of me really likes the return to more primal harder rock style in Rubber Soul.

And I love everything on Let it Be

8. I echo those sentiments.
I listen to all of the Beatles albums quite frequently, because, in their time, when each was produced, they were master works of art. Each album showed a progressive bent artistically, and really, what more can you ask for? In short, I could not choose. I love them all.

6. Rubber Soul
And Revolver (but I voted for Rubber Soul). It's my favorite Beatles "era"--when I started going from vinyl to CD, I bought those two first.

7. Another for Rubber Soul.
Seems like a bit of a sea-change here, I always thought the most widely preferred mid-period Beatles was eternally Revolver. Huh.

18. Beatles on the BBC
live radio broadcast no overdubs pretty much shows why they were such a great band. The broadcasts ended right around the time the boys adopted what Lennon always called " that dead Beatle sound" - see numerous post-Beatle interviews.
