My new volunteer position: Helping homeless kitties find homes!!!
Seriously!!!

One of the many cat rescue shelters in Delaware has an area setup at my local PetSmart. At any given time they have about 10-12 cats & kittens who are in need of a good home. As a volunteer, I help perspective owners lookover over the cats and help select one for adoption. And for a small feel (a hell of alot cheaper than what I paid for Abbie, the stray I found), you can adopt a cat with all it's shots, tested for all the diseases and of course, spay/neutered.

Now that football season is overwith ( ) and the DE primaries are soon done, I wanted something non-political to volunteer my time and something fun to do on the weekends. And I have to admit, PetSmart is such a great place. They not only donate the space for our group and the Humane Society, but they also provide the litter, cat food and other necessities for the cats that stay at the store.

I'm trying my best NOT to adopt any more cats (I only live in a 1 bedroom apartment), but there are the 2 cutest kittens there. They are 2 girls (from the same litter), all black and almost identical except the eyes (one has orange eyes and the other has green eyes). Plus they have a wonderful boy there who has the funkiest looking face (his jaw actually juts out further than most cats - he looks like a real bruiser, but he's a sweetie). I'd almost adopt the boy, but unfortunately he's declawed and I don't think he'd do well around my clawed Abbie.

:D

1. "for a small feel?"
Hehehee... that's a pretty good typo, Lynne. Pretty apt, I'd say -- you get plenty of "small feels" -- lots of chances to hold the sweet little furballs -- while working with the kittens. Maybe those feels will help to soothe your desire to adopt another kitten.

Good for you for doing this! I admire you.

4. This is the first laugh I've had in about 24 hours
I'd correct the typo but I really do need the laugh.

And btw, it's a small fee: $75 for one cat, $120 for a pair and they have reduced price for older cats.

2. Good for You!
That's the way to make changes in the world...one small step at a time.

You have my respect!

note: you also have my sympathies for yesterday's playoff game...sorry about the Eagles.

3. A bargain! One small feel coming up! <giggle>
You'd have guys lined up around the block, no doubt.
