1. Marriage advice or wedding advice?
Or Vermont advice?

10. Oh, I'm not in VT.
I lived in MA and NH for most of my life, though. My family is scattered all over New England, and I'm out here in Seattle.

I guess you might need more wedding advice than anything else at this point, given the timing.

You've probably heard this, but:

Make absolutely certain that you have one person ready to be on hand to handle last-minute issues. This person should be reliable and calm, and not someone that has a lot of jobs already. Be sure your partner has someone to do this, too.

Eat breakfast if you can. It's very hard to actually eat at you own wedding.

Someone will have to be assigned to watch/transport the gifts. It's not a glamorous job, but it has to be done.

Photos take much longer than you think they will. Bring water for you and your partner.

When you open gifts, write down what was sent to you and by whom.

Save some humor for the end of the day, when you're alone together.

Don't put pressure on yourselves...getting married is a lot of work and is very draining. *Being* married has been really great, in my experience.

Best of luck to you and yours--Vermont is great. One of my favorite weddings ever was in Brat in the gazebo in the center of town.

(And now I'm all nostalgic for home!)
