Women Getting Collagen Injections - In Their G-Spots
<snip>

Karen Roberts scheduled an appointment with her plastic surgeon at the end of a long day. The 22-year-old student at Solano Community College attended morning classes, caught up with homework and took her 4-year-old daughter to a matinee.

By 4 p.m. she sat inside Dr. Justin Salerno's office, readying to become the surgeon's first patient to receive an injection called a G-Shot, also known as G-spot Amplification. With a 3 1/2-inch needle, Salerno would pump a small dose of collagen into his patient's Grafenberg Spot and make it swell to the size of a quarter.

The G-spot has been the subject of lore and controversy since it was first identified in 1950 by the German gynecologist Ernst Gräfenberg. Some sexologists believe the small area behind the pubic bone and accessible through the anterior wall of the vagina is an erogenous zone that when stimulated leads to heightened sexual arousal and powerful orgasms. Others dispute the zone's very existence, arguing that studies have turned up no scientific evidence of the G-spot's location, or only highly questionable results.

In the case of Roberts (a pseudonym used at her request to protect her privacy), she was unsure whether the G-spot existed, and if it truly held the key to a vibrant sex life. But she was willing to find out.

"If I could come home like my husband, have sex and feel that release," Roberts said before her appointment, "I'd be one happy woman. But instead I come home, I spend all this time concentrating, hoping something will happen and I just end up frustrated."

The procedure, which has been performed on approximately 250 women nationally in the past two years at a cost of $1,850 each, appealed to Roberts because she felt life's rigmarole had left her fatigued by the end of the day, hardly in an amorous mood. Even when she felt the surge of excitement, reaching an orgasm was a time-consuming endeavor that took more effort and energy than she and her husband had to offer.

Maybe her husband needs the collagen shot?

8. Given that her name and sexual frustrations are now public information,
I'm sure she'll be free of her current lover very, very soon.

"Honey? I'm gonna spend thousands of dollars to enhance my G-spot 'cuz you're not satisfying me. OK?"

Man, that's just gotta pump her partner full of sexual confidence!

3. Oy
You can probably get better results with toys and they're a lot cheaper and safer. I hope it works for these women, even if just a placebo effect. Bet this is legal in places where "erotic toys" aren't. Wonder if they'd be legal if they were sold by doctors.

5. I guess her husband is a rotten lover.
"I spend all this time concentrating, hoping something will happen and I just end up frustrated."

Is this what straight women go through? Damn. Poor thing.

I think that woman, they quoted, needs more than collagen injections.

7. I've heard of women getting cosmetic surgery "down there"
...often after having children. There was a cosmetic surgeon who specialized in that sort of work on Dr. Drew's show once.

9. I think that's a different kind of cosmetic surgery.
This is the first I've ever heard of someone enlarging their G-spot. The only cosmetic surgery I've heard about is to tighten things up after a pregnancy, or age or whatever.

11. Tidy's things up
I happened upon a VH1 or E! story on plastic surgery and this was covered-Seems that some women don't like they way theirs looks so they have the labia trimmed up. I think a porn star actually sold hers on line a few years ago.

Anorgasmia

Definition: Anorgasmia is an inability to reach orgasm and is thought to occur in about 10% of women. Anorgasmia may be either primary (the woman has never been able to reach an orgasm by any means) or secondary (an orgasm was experienced at some point in the past). It may also be global (orgasm is not experienced by any means) or situational (orgasm may be experienced in certain sexual situations but not others; for example, with manual stimulation but not with intercourse).

14. Well, if she's trying to have the G-spot solve her problems...
Edited on Mon Jun-04-07 08:58 AM by PelosiFan
I think it probably is another, more important, part of her anatomy that is not being stimulated. I'm pretty certain that all that time spent "concentrating, hoping something will happen" is happening in the wrong spot, so to speak.

Though I'm sure there are some women who are incapable of orgasm, most women who haven't experienced it, I'm willing to bet have been with men who don't know how to do it, and they are too repressed to do it for themselves.

15. As the article indicates, it happens in about 10% of women.
So, while it's a significant number, it certainly doesn't make it a probability that this is what she's suffering from. In all likelihood, she's probably just trying way too hard to have an orgasm. Even as a male, when I try too hard, nothing happens.

It's hard for me to believe that there are that many people so utterly inept that they can't get a woman to orgasm. Maybe I'm trying too hard to be humble, but it doesn't seem like an entirely difficult thing.

16. Yes, but the 10% covers women who have had orgasms in the past,

as well as women who can only have orgasms with manual stimulation and not intercourse.

"Anorgasmia may be either primary (the woman has never been able to reach an orgasm by any means) or secondary (an orgasm was experienced at some point in the past). It may also be global (orgasm is not experienced by any means) or situational (orgasm may be experienced in certain sexual situations but not others; for example, with manual stimulation but not with intercourse)."

I don't know many women who have many orgasms with JUST intercourse and no other stimulation. So, I think that 10% is pretty overstated, and the percent of women who have never had an orgasm is significantly lower.

I do however know plenty of men that only care about intercourse and don't bother trying to make a woman orgasm any other way. Often it takes much longer for a woman to, and some men are not willing to continue trying after they've finished, or take the time beforehand. That's what I've heard from many of my straight female friends anyway. :)

17. Well, it comes from an OB/GYN site.
So, I trust that they know what they're talking about with regards to the 10% figure.

I'm sure there are plenty of guys who don't put enough effort in - you make a good point there.

18. I don't doubt that 10% is accurate if it encompasses those who have had orgasms
in the past as well as those who cannot orgasm purely through intercourse. Frankly, I think the percentage is much higher of women who cannot orgasm purely through intercourse and no other stimulation. I would be shocked to find out that it is only 10%.

who cannot climax through penetration alone. If it really, is only 10%, then I must know every single one of them! :D

23. I've had to tell...
very nice, well-meaning ex-lovers that they could bang away at me for the next 100 years like they were trying to and I wouldn't be any closer to an orgasm! :D

Then there were the guys that knew the clitoris existed, but not quite where it lived.

Ahhh, those wacky days before I had learned to just cut to the chase and say, "Gimme your hand and let me show you something..." :)

21. I thought so too
Most women don't climax through penetration. That's why "quickies" aren't our favorite sessions.

Also the girl in the article is a little young. Response to vaginal stimulation improves as you age. Certainly true with me.

I'm just concerned that she is perhaps thinking a normal reaction to mediocre sex is somehow her fault or something that should be medically fixed.

:scared: No thank you. I cannot imagine ever doing that....how incredibly painful! And you have to PAY for that kind of pain???? No sirree...

And I'm sorry, but a g-spot injection is NOT a cure for sexual dysfunction or a quick fix to get an orgasm. :yoiks:

And elsewhere in the article they list other elective/cosmetic procedures she's had.

Maybe she should be trying to figure out why she's wasting so much time and money on surgery and shots at 22 yrs. old when she clearly has other priorities. Sounds to me like it could be stress and general unhappiness.
