I hate golf.
My husband is out golfing.
Next weekend, he's going out of town for a golf tournament, so... lots of golfing.

I went golfing once; my heels gave me blisters, there were biting flies, and it was really, really boring.

I know alot of people enjoy golf- more power to them, but I find it one of the dullest sports on. Earth.

Word.

1. I get hammered when I go.
9 holes takes six hours. It is a bucket of fun.

But, Bowling > Golf

5. this is my husband-"If i get a sand wedge i think my game will improve"
um yeah, thats the ticket, same thing with the big bertha driver and the pitching wedge, it's never the operator, it's always an equipment problem.

6. Every time I hear people talk about golf and fantasy football, I just laugh and shrug.
I'm one of these guys that just doesn't do typical "guy" things like golf. Or sports bars. Or bars, period. Or high fives. Or fantasy football. Or beer guts. Or wear khakis on weekends. Or see intrisic value in things like "The Man Show" or "The Best Damned Sports Show". Or hunt.

7. You and what universe?
I firmly believe Scots invented golf to play a joke on the universe.

It's the sport's equivalent of haggis.

9. I love golf. It gets me more yarn and needles.
:)

Hubby needs new golf balls, so I need new yarn. He needs a new wedge, well then, he can't complain when I get new knitting needles. Golf is great!

10. It's like anything else
The first time you do it well, it becomes a great game. It's that "pursuit of excellence" thing.

Golf, though, like a few other sports (bowling comes to mind), is an insidious mofo. We watch the pros, and they don't look like anything special. Hell, they don't even wear uniforms. But they're hitting straight and long and they hit greens in regulation and they putt to the hole. So we figure if they can shoot in the 60s, we can probably shoot in the 80s because it just doesn't look that hard.

We're wrong, of course. :banghead:

11. Even frisbee Disc golf????
It's loads cheaper...no green fees on most courses and folks are generally younger and more apt to party along with. (anotherwords bring the kids) Just purcase a couple of discs, (a putter and a driver), and you are good to go!
It is great execise too.
