I'm feeling my Celtic roots tonight
Edited on Thu Apr-19-07 04:57 PM by Xipe Totec
Post your favorite music on this thread.

With one caveat; it has to include at least one bagpipe.

And if it happens to be NOT from the British Isles, you get extra points!

PS: But if Great Britain is your preference, post that too!

31. But if I posted a link...
I somehow think i would be violating DU rules. I am certain I read somewhere..."posting a picture of your Celtic Root will result in immediate termination of your account".

27. Celtic, yes; bagpipes, no
Much prefer the fiddle music of Cape Breton myself!

Here is a fantastic example--Buddy MacMaster, now 80, is the uncle of Grammy nominee, Natalie MacMaster. The fiddle music just gets you right in the heart and doesn't let you go.

Yes, I have a link to the site, but always forget to listen in. My mom is a native of Cape Breton and used to go to the Canadian American club in Watertown to listen to the dances. Both Buddy MacMaster and Bill Lamey were performing at one point or another.

I'm always open to novel contributions.

Somewhere in my collection I have Estonian bagpipe music.

However, all I can say about Estonian bagpipes is that "good" does not begin to describe them.

Either genetic memory is real or reincarnation is. Because I'm U.S. born and bred but something about bagpipes just makes my blood run faster. Stewart is my maiden name so....
