3. Yes. I'm a throwback to the days when casual Friday meant a nice pair of Jeans with an normal tshirt or oxford-sans comments of any kind.

4. I am on a standing script for medical reasons. I tend not to take them as often as I should. It is my pet peeve that so many people post about Vicodin as if it were a recreational drug...when it isn't.

Now that I have seen it, I hope only that you like it. My own judgement is that I'm busy fighting off hallucinations & stuff, so I can't really tell you much about it.

Bright in what way?

Am I a sunny and happy person to be around? Well, yes!

Am I actually happy? Nope, not by a fucking long shot. Seems my latest cry for help went unheeded in that thread about 'pictures that represent how you are', but oh well. Eh.

Am I intelligent? Well, there are two answers to this:

My rational side says that this is indeed the case, given the number of people who have walked up to me to tell me how impressively clever I am, given that I'm comfortably doing several advanced subjects in university, but most of all given various things I won't talk about, I think it would be irrational to think that I was average. At least it seems that if average people were to have that happen to them, then it would be likely that *I* would have said to someone. However, my rational side also considers intelligence to be reification, so that's where that ends.

To keep accuracy, which was unfortunately deemed to be more important than self esteem, my emotional side thinks I'm a moron. Keeps me, uh, accurate. Doesn't do much for keeping my mind healthy though!

6) I don't believe in traditional measures of intellect. Intellect is often viewed as 'smarts', but that excludes the vast majority of what the brain can do. People who are good at dance or music have a form of intellect that is not traditionally viewed as 'smarts'. Social skills are also a form of 'smarts'. I find it interesting that some people seem to have their skills evenly distributed among all the various forms of intellect, while some seem to be focus in certain areas, but everybody in the end seems to have only a certain amount of points if you will to distribute among the various forms of smarts. So, traditional views of 'I'm smarter than x% of the population' are in reality totally bogus. However, in the interest of some sort of answer, I'll say I view my intellectual strength is mostly spatial in nature. I have a phenomenal spacial memory and remarkable spacial visualization skills. My worst skill is probably in 'body' intellect. I can hardly walk without crashing into things.

1. Hard to say what my favorite is: walking, maybe, though among nonwalking forms of transport a motorcycle is probably number one, but I also like boats of various kinds and cars do have their benefits.

2. Not sure -- I went to university a long, long time. In my earlier years it'd be a toss-up between geology and black American history (worth noting that this was not a US university and, also, with the British degree structure I was not required to take humanities but did so because I was interested in them and because I wanted to avoid taking any more boring genetics classes). In my (US) PhD program it may have been a seminar class on scientific communication, perhaps the rare useful class in my PhD program, though I also greatly enjoyed two ecological/zoological classes directly in line with my research interests.

3. Probably only if you work in a tai chi studio. Actually, probably not then, either...not exceedingly Taoist, unless you mean that the yoga is oriented toward making love.

4. Never. Almost. I rarely get headaches and it's even more rare that I take OTC analgesics for 'em -- most have no noticeable effect on me (thusly it surprised me when the anesthesia they used on me after my most severe motorcycle crash kicked in quite nicely, while I was telling them that it probably wouldn't work). I took hydrocodone (along with barbiturates) when I was badly sick in October, but that's the first I've taken since that accident 23 years ago. Not a fan of painkillers. Even without the example of the real Elvis to stand as a warning.

5. Not sure. Still trying to figure out what's happening in it. :D

6. Bright? Close to 10 in intellect and flexibility of thinking, probably, but some of my decisions would downgrade my 'brightness' quite severely. Stupid is as stupid does, and ditto for the bright side.

1. I actually like travelling by boat. Don't get to do it very often, but when I can, it's wonderful. I enjoy taking the ferry from Port Angeles, Washington to Victoria, B.C. a couple of times a year. On a sunny Spring day, it's delightful; the sunshine, the cool breeze on the upper deck, the blue waters of the Strait of Juan De Fuca, the snowy Cascade Mountains in the distance, and of course, looking forward as always to visiting the beautiful Canadian city of Victoria. B-)

2. I took a college course called "The History of the Cold War", back in the Spring of 1989. Day by day it became more of a current events class. What with the dismantling of the Iron Curtain in Hungary and Austria, the pro-democracy rallies in Tianenmen Square in China, the progressing of Russian perestroika under Gorbachev, and the gaff-laden but relatively benign Presidency of Bush Sr., it just seemed to be an exciting and promising time to be alive. Plus, I got a 4.0 out of the class. :-)

3. I don't think any workplace is an appropriate place to wear a shirt that says "fuck" on it. I'm no prude as you well know, lioness, but a little decorum...
