Graywarrior: Raul Malo and me...

I'd have shown these pictures to you before, but they are such perfectly awful pictures of me that I was embarrassed (I still am!). They were taken June 24, 1994 at the Portage County Freedom Festival in Stevens Point, WI. My radio station sponsored the Mavericks show. The first picture is Raul and me; the second is with drummer Paul Deakin. Guitarist Nick Kane (with the tattoo on his arm) is in the background.

They were pretty good.

Raul Malo's got some great work out there, though.

3. saw Raul a couple months ago....

wow! I really liked the Mavericks, but Raul solo is EXCELLENT! It was a great show in a small venue (The Ark in Ann Arbor), and I've just heard he will be back there in August. I must get tickets!

I saw them here: www.gruenehall.com I think it was 1994 as well.

A local artist (who you might like) named Monte Warden opened. Awesome show.

Edit - Raul is playing Gruene in April. Hmm.

7. Monte seems like a decent guy.

He writes some really good songs too. He's had some ups and downs personally though.
