We're really excited. We haven't been down there for like four or five years. We're staying at Hotel Lawrence, and it looks to be a fun trip.
Also, do any of you have any suggestions on fun stuff to do that we wouldn't normally think about?!
Any DUers wanna have a meal with us? We're fun people, I promise.
Thanks!
Duckie

1. Take a jaunt over to Fort Worth and check out the arts district.

That's the day we're going to be looking for stuff to do in Ft Worth.

4. Please post in the Texas forum and we'll round 'em up for you!
I'll attend if I am in town!

Let's see, the DMA has a really nice Matisse exhibit, that extends over to the Nasher museum of modern sculpture. You really should go to the Nasher, it's a one-of-a-kind sculpture garden.

If it's nice you may want to take a jaunt up to White Rock Lake, rent a bike at Richardson Bike Mart, and take a spin around the lake. Lots of nice homes and wildlife, a good way to get exercise, see birds, and some interesting old buildings, the boat house and the bath house.

Of course, if you're a buff, there's always the Sixth Floor museum, and the Conspiracy Museum.

Do you like live music? There might be something fun on in Deep Ellum!

That's all I can think of at the moment....:D

9. I second the White Rock Lake adventure.
It's very nice up there plus you can oogle at the mansions up there. Wow!

7. Unfortunately not Redstone.
That whole area has turned into call-girl central. Oh wait, I mean Gentlemen's Clubs where all the men go for the good lunch specials. :eyes:

10. No more waitresses on swings? No more block of cheese with your breadbasket? DAMN!
I liked that place. Lots of fun, and good chow, too.

8. Check out the West End for some good dining.
Check out Deep Ellum for some good clubbing and live music. The Dallas Museum of Art is a good place for culture and it is near the West End. Also, McKinney Avenue just north of downtown is nice. The Dallas Aquarium and Dallas Zoo are nice too. The Ft. Worth Zoo is better though. Here are some links.

I suppose I would be remiss not to mention the Sixth Floor Museum. http://www.jfk.org/

11. We're going that same weekend for the
for the opening of the Scarborough Renaissance Festival. It runs from April 7th - May 28th.

We will also be going to the Dallas Arboretum for the Dallas Blooms Festival & the Ft. Worth Zoo.

If we're not too tired we will stop at the Grapevine Mills Outlet Mall on the way home.

12. On my last two trips to Dallas, I had EXCELLENT dinners at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen.
There are several of them, I've only been to the one on Oak Lawn Ave. Fantastic seafood - mmmmmmmm, good! I'm about ready to start drooling on my keyboard just thinking about those two dinners!!
