My ankle is still f'd up...
It did the intitial healing and I thought it was fine, but while I can walk on it fine, I cannot put weird pressure on it, like lay the other ankle over it for extended periods of time, or bend it under me when I sit...It hurts. I SO don't want to see a doctor...sigh. x(

1. Did you break it?
Mine has been all f'd up since we went bowling last Sunday. I've been doing the brace thing, the wrap thing, the elevation thing and the pain keeps going and coming back.

If it's a sprain, keep taking the ibuprofen (Ibuprofen, il est mon ami!), cold packs and wraps.

3. It's not your ankle, love.
You can walk on it fine, but it hurts when you put pressure on it from the front?

Not your ankle. It's a flexor.

6. Ok here's what happened
I rolled out on my left ankle coming off the last step of a staircase, while having a very heavy bag on my left shoulder. I took it easy for a week, and it seemed fine. But when I'm sitting, a month later, and I try to fold my leg under me, the pain in my ankle is intense. As it is when I try to lay it on top of my other ankle, it hurts. So yeah, when it's turned and pressure is on it, it kills. What did I do? And what should I do?

10. You did the ankle inversion thing.
That really sucks.

Sounds like a sprain. (I'm not a doctor, so..... Anything I say is just based on experience - But, I've had a couple of ankle invesions (turned under ankle) ) Treat it gently. If you're folding your leg under you and it hurts, do what my doctor said when I complained of pain: Don't do that!

Stay off it as much as you can, and ice it when you can. Wrap it, but not too tight. If it's swollen, elevate it, preferably higher than your heart. Ibuprofen, as much as you can take - 400-600 mg every 4 hours- ignore what the warning label says, but don't drink alcohol while you're doing this. Remember that NSAIDs need time to build up in your system (Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs) so even if you feel better, keep taking them. And then take them a little bit longer.

I know it's been a month, but you can really mess up your ankle if you keep walking on it without taking some precautions. I walked on my inversion for two weeks and then spent 8 weeks on crutches.

11. Let's get VERY specific
When does it hurt?

I think that you'll be very happy with my non-MD analysis.

4. Just Let Me Look At It...

I can't fix it, but I like your feet and ankles ;)

I'm sorry you are hurt, maybe you fractured it, or maybe it is just very slow to heal. I hate to say it, but if it hurts when you do what you described... don't do it.

It also could be .......................

age..., nahhhhhh, take some Ibuprofen, and soak that foot in some hot water :)

13. I hurt my ankle back in November and it still hurts from time to time.
My Doctor said it could take up to a year to heal, so there are lot of things I still can't do.

I have been working on my garden for a week now because I have to stop from time to time.

Having a bad ankle just sucks.

You may need to see a Doctor.
