I'm getting a CT scan tomorrow
Not for anything too concerning, just to definitively rule out some stuff. What's really cool is that the facility I work at actually has a CT there, so I was able to squeek in real quick, and as soon as I'm done I can run downstairs and start working, so I won't need to take a whole day (I missed 4 days in the last 2 weeks because me and Dropkid both had mung-fung of the lung).

This will be my first scan, so I'm hoping I'll get to see the pictures at some point, I love the idea of getting a look at my own innards!

Who else has had one?

1. Connecticut is lovely this time of year
Scan the whole state, if you get the chance.

I've never had a CT scan, but I would be interested to see the inside story. All I've had is dental x-rays and a shot of my ankle when I gave it a good twisting a few years back.

Good luck with your procedure!

6. Thanks!!
I've had an ultrasound twice (once with the brat, once for gallstones). I've had zillions of x-rays since I'm a klutz and was prone to pneumonia as a kid. So I'm interested to see this (both ultrasounds were really cool).

7. Thanks!
I'm not really a-scared, just anxious to figure out what the hell is going on. This is to try to help decide between a cyst or a pulled muscle.

3. Good luck!
Last time I was in the emergency room, I had either an MRI or a CT scan. I was pretty doped up and don't remember which.

8. I'm glad they decided against MRI
I have a bunch of piercing I'd have to take out, and I am pretty well tattooed, so I really don't wnt to deal with the discomfort from that (tattoos, especially with black ink, tend to get "warm" during MRI).

9. Have you ever reacted to the contrast?
I'm kinda worried about that, I am allergic to lots of stuff (no medicines so far though).

10. Thanks! I like the idea of ruling out things
You can at least say "Well it's not that".

11. I've had one.
I can't remember if it was the one I had to drink some weird beverage for or the other one where I just lay down and they did it. Either way, it's not at all bad, except for the warm feeling when the contrast dye is injected. Again, maybe that's the wrong one.

I'm helpful, aren't I? :P

14. Ewwwwwww, I had to drink that nasty stuff today!
That was one of the grossest things I've ever tasted :puke: You'd think with all the stuff being done with foods and flavorings they'd figure out a way to make that stuff taste less like ass!

And then they didn't let you use the restroom? hehe, it's all coming back to me now :hi:

16. A gajillion...
My favorite part is the warm, fuzzy feeling I get from the dye...not.

Good luck! :hi:

17. yes, I've had a couple
CT scans are a breeze other than the gawdawful stuff you have to drink. I tried an MRI once and only once. Who knew I was claustrophobic? Scared the living daylights out of me. IF I ever need another MRI, they will have to knock me out.

good luck to you!
