39. Oh, southeastern Connecticut. I'm trying to think what city that might be.
I drove from Boston, MA to Stamford, CT many times... working as a regional representative for Bristol-Myers Squibb (Clairol division). We had meetings and training sessions that I attended from 1983 to 1992. One weekend, my husband and I visited in NYC, and we took the old Boston Post Road back to Sudbury, Massachusetts where we lived for 28 years.

My former manager still lives in Darien, CT, and of course, the posh people live in Greenwich! I always think of Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward when that city is mentioned. (People who hear me on the radio said I sounded like Joanne.) Greenwich has the prettiest main street.

Good night and good luck, Jonny!

50. Yes. Now it all comes back to me. You work in NYC? I worked all over the city when I lived there
decades ago. I hated to drive there even then. Our address was 201 E. 28th Street (at Third Avenue) in the "Chesapeake." My now-deceased ex-husband and I were tenants from 1963-1969, when we moved to Florida, and later divorced.

I worked at NBC, 30 Rockefeller Center, with the Johnny Carson staff long ago when the "Tonight" show was produced and taped in New York.

What kind of work do you do? (It's OK if you don't want to converse here... I'm just a curious talk show lady!)

Here's a photo of me when we visited NYC last June. This was taken in front of the Museum of Television and Radio off Sixth Avenue in the 50s.

I really didn't give a whit about his death, but, I do find it in poor taste to publicly declare joy over someone's death on the internets before the corpse is cold, regardless...Hated Raygun, hated Mother T, etc...But, if I feel some joy about their deaths, I keep it to myself, that's all.

no arguing whether the death of the head of a major religion is newsworthy.

35. One could say that Reagan was A-list and doesn't count either
But then again if a president has been out of office for a long time, I guess his ranking goes down a bit. Speaking of which, Gerald Ford's death seemed to cause a lot of people to remember a lot of outrage that that had been nowhere near the surface for a long long time.

Reagen and the Pope caught a lot of shit, but deservedly so. Irwin on the other hand did a lot of great things and was called lambasted without mercy by quite a few DUers.

I was disgusted for about one whole week.

Like someone else said, the day Nader dies, GD will like...enter a hate-crazed orgy and self-destruct or something.
I think Molly Ivins' death was the ugliest because honestly, of all the people mentioned, I'd imagine that she'd be the one that would be LEAST likely to cause DUer's to enter hate-kill-defecate-on-grave-mode.
Guess I was wrong.
Gerald Ford's death was pretty ugly too.
Heard people on GD were calling Anna Nicole Smith a whore. That's pretty fucking low, too.
So...my question is...how much LOWER can GD go?

There will be an ugly showdown in which sane people must fight to try to end the war between those who make fun of him for having Down Syndrome, those who are FUCKING OUTRAGED TO THE POINT OF HAVING STROKES by their insensitivity, and a third group that lambasts him as some kind of Uncle Tom of retardation who also hasn't done nearly enough to give back to his community.
