How casual is too casual for the grocery store?
Edited on Mon Feb-05-07 09:29 PM by Maddy McCall
I need to run to the grocery store for one item. I just came in from work and shucked my work clothes and put on some plush PJ pants and a tee shirt.

I'm sooo comfortable that I'm seriously considering going to the store as I am, plus a hoodie.

What's the most casual you've ever dressed to go into a store?

Too casual would be going buck nekkid in flip-flops. Although these days, some folks might consider that over dressed.

Imagine nude people strolling up and down the aisle, occasionally stopping to read labels or squeeze the oranges as if it were the most normal thing in the world and they were completely unaware of their nudity. It'd be funny.

15. Most casual?
Flannel pyjama trousers, a t-shirt, shoes and a trench coat. (Something like five in the morning, so not too many people out...and I was out of coffee and cigarettes, which constituted an emergency)

17. I've done that...
minus the trench coat.

At 5 AM. Cigs--yep, I've done that and it does constitute an emergency, especially when I was working on my MA and had a major paper due in three hours.

I really have no excuse now, though. Except that I'm too comfortable to change again.

(Crisis averted this time. MMjr is in town and is bringing the item home in a second. )

So glad you enjoyed your trip to Williamsburg. It's especially beautiful there during the spring and summer. I haven't been down there in ages. My nephew lives in Norfolk, so the next time we see him, we just might take a side trip to W'burg.

51. Yes! And they are the second most comfortable pj pants I've ever owned.
The very most comfortable came from Old Navy a couple years ago--plush like a stuffed animal with snowmen on them. I still have them, but they are so ragged out that I'd never wear them out, or in front of anyone. Strangely, they've become a blanky to me, which is odd because I never had a comfort item when I was a kid.

And I like to consider dressing light practice for the hot flashes soon to come! :)

Jogging pants sound fine. I just have a problem when the pants are obviously pjs... ya know, the type that are flannel with cutesy patterns all over them. I don't want to someone's pjs in public. I'm old-fashioned I guess.

68. That may be OK for the young & fit.
Speaking only for myself, I'd risk looking like a victim of Early Alzheimer's.

My wardrobe contains very few "uncomfortable" items. Even for work. On weekends, I'll go out in a shirt & skirt (cooler than jeans--which usually matters here in Houston). Shoes? Thongs--but, the "nicer" ones from Target--not all rubber! Cooler weather calls for more layers.

If it very early or fairly late then certain PJs may not be that big of deal... Then again, I personally wouldn't care and I'd wear whatever I felt like wearing...

The most casual for me was a suit without my tie on... I felt so naked.
