Anybody's kids get and electric scooter from Santa?
My son wants one for his birthday, which is this weekend. Don't have the faintest idea how to go about choosing one.

Any advise on this is more than welcome.

Oh, and good morning. :hi:

1. Get him something with pedals.
Healthier, faster, and he can keep going when his friends have to push home for a recharge.

Honestly, I just don't understand electric-powered kiddie cars, tricycles and the like.

But I never understood that Bazooka "ABC" gum in a tube, either...

2. He is an avid bike rider...
He comes in from school, gets his homework done, and then gets on his bike and rides until dark. Or his foot-powered scooter.

Electric scooters are the rage with kids his age here, so he wants one to keep up with the pack.

By the way, we have almost 50 acres of property with great trails all over it, so he won't be on the street.

Am considering gas scooters too, though.

3. See what the other kids are riding.
Check it out, there's probably been a fair ammount of tests and trials by the other parents (the hard way, buying several POS before finding a good one)so you can benefit from their (expensive) research...

Somewhere between the $49 "Odd Lots" reject and the $400 "Sharper Image" toy...

you son sounds like a whirlwind of energy! :7

4. Thanks, BiggJawn
They mostly have the sit-on scooters made by dolphin or freedom. This is the one my kid wants:

5. WARNING: There have been a rash of serious injuries caused by
motorized scooters. People (esp. kids) don't realize just how fast these things can go.
