3. A. You still have the light contrast but the ice on the left doesn't look dirty.

6. If I retained the white ice on the left but added the brown for the rest,
would that be the ideal mix?

(and dirty ice is gross... makes one wonder how the dog got there...)

8. Not to me. I like A just the way it is.
Adding anything brown to ice is not a subject I'd care to consider.

9. I hate to say it, but...
digital.

Casio Z-120

great for landscape photography and certain indoor conditions and the lens is sublime (virtually NO chromatic aberration or purple fringing!) and a good sensor for a compact P&S, that's for sure... I wish it had better optical zooming (it's 3x), but I otherwise love this camera.

My next camera will be a d-SLR. Or a reasonable mega-zoom (12x optical) if the sensor and lens are of good quality.

10. well you take some great pictures.
i have a canon powershot 6 which i love but lots of time i break out the canon rebel from 1990 and it still takes the best pictures, especially black and white.

11. I picked B...
It looks crisper and shows more detail in the rocks. I don't mind the dirty snow...it is what it is. Both of them are beautiful though.

12. B is some tinkering in Photoshop...
(PhotoImpact, actually but people like to think I use Photoshop it's about time to say it can be done at 1/7th the price... )

"C" - coming soon - puts the ice on the foreground/left back to white. The result is a very fluid, earthy color scheme - even if it looks like frozen root beer.
