10. I was just kidding.
We went to Montreal this summer. The coolest city in North America. Great food, nice people. Like a good sized city in France. You can't believe you're in North America.

11. I can tell you that icebreaking at the poles is very, well, bracing
would be my word for it.
Jumping in NY harbor to pull psychotics out of the water in February is lots of fun too, if you like that sort of thing.
Been there, done that.
I think, however, the coldest I ever was had to be Antarctica. Only there for a few hours, but the C-130 we rode on was extremely cold. And there was no getting out of it.

8. Well, its really cold here in Iowa
does that count? But seriously, it's hard to beat the Rockie Mountains. Was out there about 18 years ago, when my sister lived outside of Denver, and when she went to work, we went up into several hiking trails. Lake Superior is nice too. As long as its not winter.

15. Labrador
Red Bay, Labrador is unique........foggy, hot, cold, clear, misty, icy, humid........all at the same time or in the space of a day! Beautiful, but.........Beware the dread black fly!! Anyway, almost no people........huge vistas, ice bergs, tundra flowers......spectacular.
