What is for dinner?
I have made (in the slow cooker) lemony pork loin with carrots and couscous.

I can smell it...and I am getting hungry!

1. Broiled open-face hamburgers with a sour cream sauce...
and sesame green beans. I haven't gotten any further than that.

7. Left over grilled chicken with broccoli and rice.
I hosted an event and ended up with way too much left over steak and chicken. So, I'm trying to use as much as possible.

Andy idea how I can use these already cooked steaks and breasts for meals that can be frozen? I don't have much experience freezing my own home cooked food.

10. I generally do not freeze stuff that I have already cooked.
Particularly if it has already been in the freezer.

You could do a fajita night with both the chicken and steak, or do a stir fry with one or the other.

Chicken fried rice is also a good use of the chicken anyway.

22. Idea for the leftover steak
I cut up the steak in bite size pieces. Make a mushroom & onion gravy. Combine them & simmer until tender. Then freeze.
I pour it over rice or noodles that I cook before serving.

maybe an omelet, although both seem like too much work. I'm tired. It may just be a toasted PB&J. and a beer. I need a beer -- I'll be grading lab reports tonight. :puke:

15. Well, I was gonna concoct something.
I was gonna try to make stuffed bell peppers with a gumbo theme. You know...do a kinda dirty rice with sausage, shrimp, chicken, and the appropriate spices and veggies, and stuff the bell peppers with that, and then cook them with chicken broth in the pan to soften the bell peppers. But I can't decide if that would be any good.

What do you think?

Real comfort food on a cold snowy day. My moms recipe. Of course, I was the only one who truly enjoyed it. mrborlis only ate it because he was hungry, borliskid 1 tried it but didn't like it and borliskids 2 and 3 wouldn't even try it. I give up.
