Woohoo! Finally out of the ice!

At noon today, I asked an Oklahoma state trooper about conditions westbound.
He said mostly slushy with ice on some bridges, but passable if
I take it easy and watch out for idiots-he'd seen more than his
share of those! Anyway, 3 1/2 hours and a whole 128 miles later,
I was at my fuel stop in Oklahoma City(I 40 Exit 140).

What's so funny is that 8 miles west of the fuel stop, I 40 is
bare and dry all the way to Amarillo, where it's a balmy +12 and
clear.

So, the good folks in the San Joaquin Valley will get their cereal
about 30 hours later than planned, but they'll get it. Clear, albeit
cold, weather all the way to Tracy. :toast:
