115. I'd rate "Have You Forgotten" as worse the "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue"
That fucking "Have You Forgotten" song is the only song I know of that literally makes me grind my teeth in rage when I hear it. Take every moronic right-wing false assumption about 9/11, wrap them all up in a single song, and that's what it is. I just want to go through it and dissect it, lie for lie. It would take a while, because pretty much the whole damned song is one outrageous lie or distortion after another.

4. What about Wildfire?

She comes down from Yellow Mountain
On a dark flat land she rides
On a pony she named Wildfire
With a whirlwind by her side
On a cold Nebraska night

Oh, they say she died one winter
When there came a killing frost
And the pony she named Wildfire
Busted down his stall
In a blizzard he was lost

She ran calling Wildfire
She ran calling Wildfire
She ran calling Wildfire

By the dark of the moon I planted
But there came an early snow
There's been a hoot owl howlin' by my window now
For six nights in a row
She's coming for me I know
And on Wildfire we're both gonna go

We'll be riding Wildfire
She ran calling Wildfire
She ran calling Wildfire

On Wildfire we're going to ride her
We're gonna leave sod bustin' behind
Get these hard times right on out of our minds
Riding Wildfire

26. why is he planting in advance of the snowy season?
and for that matter, a "killing" frost, say, about 27 degrees, will kill plants but not reasonably dressed people. or a horse.
ok, i;ll concede the horse died in a blizzard. but she was plenty stupid if she chased him into the blizzard.

61. Brilliant poetry, those lyrics, unbeatable ....
for a park that had a dangerous narcotics trade and gang activity when I lived in LA.

but the shear artesttrey!

Lyrics:

Spring was never waiting for us, girl
It ran one step ahead
As we followed in the dance
Between the parted pages and were pressed
In love's hot, fevered iron
Like a striped pair of pants

MacArthur Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again
Oh, no!

I recall the yellow cotton dress
Foaming like a wave
On the ground around your knees
The birds, like tender babies in your hands
And the old men playing checkers by the trees

MacArthur Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again
Oh, no!

There will be another song for me
For I will sing it
There will be another dream for me
Someone will bring it
I will drink the wine while it is warm
And never let you catch me looking at the sun
And after all the loves of my life
After all the loves of my life
You'll still be the one

I will take my life into my hands and I will use it
I will win the worship in their eyes and I will lose it
I will have the things that I desire
And my passion flow like rivers through the sky
And after all the loves of my life
After all the loves of my life
I'll be thinking of you
And wondering why

MacArthur Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again
Oh, no!
Oh, no
No, no
Oh no!!

37. "Cut the Cake" by the Average White Band
I don't think it's even POSSIBLE to create a song worse than this:

Cut the cake
Give me a little piece
Let me lick up the cream

Cut the cake
Well, just a little piece
baby you know what I mean

Cut the cake
Give me a little piece
A little lovin' on the side

Cut the cake
I need a little piece
Just to keep me satisfied

Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme that cake
It tastes so good don't pass it all around
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme that cake
You got to cut it down

Cut the cake
Just a little piece
Of your sweet love

Cut the cake
Don't you know that I
Can't get enough

Cut the cake
Want you to know that I
Ain't a greedy man

Cut the cake
Don't you know that I'll
Do the best I can

Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme that cake
Well, it tastes so good don't pass it all around
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme that cake
You got to cut it-down

Cut the cake
Give me a little piece
Let me lick up the cream

Cut the cake
Well, just a little piece
Baby you know what I mean

Cut the cake
Give me a little piece
A little lovin' on the side

Cut the cake
I need a little piece
Just to keep me satisfied

Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme that cake
Well it tastes so good don't pass it all around
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme that cake
Never knew you cooked the way you do
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme that cake
Tastes so good don't pass the recipe around
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme that cake
You got to
Cut it down
Cut it down
Cut it down
Cut the cake, please

90. Except "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" Ghastly. Just painfully awful.
Edited on Wed Jan-03-07 07:59 PM by mycritters2
The local fm station kept playing this, always in the midst of really nice Christmas things, like "Winter Wonderland", traditional carols, etc. Just when you're enjoying the seasonal music, this monstrosity rears its ugly head. I finally sent an e-mail complaining. Not that it did any good.

But "Christmas Shoes" is bad, too.

43. "Smooth Up:" the Bullet Boys' 2000 rerecording of their 1988 hit "Smooth Up in Ya"
Edited on Wed Jan-03-07 10:41 AM by Strawman
Anytime a washed up band rerecords its only hit, that is the worst. If there were six stages of the death of a metal band, that is stage five, right before acceptance.

45. It has to be "Abracadabra" by The Steve Miller Band.
The album also has the distinction of not only being the biggest waste of petrochemicals, but also that the video is one of the crappiest ones ever filmed. Looks like they had a budget of $37 dollars, along with the directing services of Ed Wood's neighbor. (That's a wrap!).

Unparalleled in it's shittiness.

Alongside "Fly Like an Eagle." :P

"Take the Money and Run," however, is a travesty. :grr:

It's not Mozart, but it's cute, at least.

Steely Dan... That's just some sick cat wailing in the night.

Actually, anything that Jim Steinman touches counts as "worst". Perhaps Hurra Torpedo should take a "crack" at the rest of his catalogue.
