Who's staying home this New Year's Eve
I could go to First Night St Louis but it seems so kid focused that I am not sure I'd have a good time. Also, I don't care a lot for crowds. It's not too cold here so I suspect there will be a lot of people out and about.

My scooter and I will just stay put and watch Law & Order SVU and/or Twilight Zone.

1. My husband and I have been married for nine years, and we have never
gone out on New Year's Eve (unless you count one year at a friend's house to play darts as "going out").

This is our 10th New Year's Eve together. We have food and drinks here, and we play cards and board games and darts and just enjoy ourselves.

2. Just me 'n the kitties
And having a great time. Any minute spent with a cat is a well-spent minute.

Spouse is on a trip; other family 1500 miles away.

I love having this time to myself!

I'm having brunch with a good friend tomorrow, though.

Cher

8. The scooter rider's group is going on a ride
tomorrow at noon. We rode on New Year's Day 2006 and it was so much fun that we decided to do it again.

3. I am - winter storm warning out
Doesn't look too bad out, but the drunks will be everywhere -- and if someone had shown an interest in me, I'd feel intimidated anyway. :)

4. I might, I might not
I've yet to decide if I want to slog through mid-calf to knee deep drifts to go party hard.
A few more drinks should decide me.

7. I will be staying in...
Having just cooked and ate dinner for the 3 of us that live here, I don't feel like going out. My girlfriend and I exchanged greetings earlier.

9. I'm staying home and so far, so good.
I've had a shower and I'm wearing my red, fuzzy robe and my hideous pink slippers with the pom poms. My friend Steve is going out and will have a drink for me, so I've got that angle covered. All I need now is SA, or alternatively, the man I met on Friday night - aw hell, any guy with brown eyes :) - to cuddle up and have a drink with. Maybe next year.

I'm sitting here in my new pink pj's (from my mom) and maroon Lands End fleece slippers just waiting for something...I'll take the blue eyed guy. :)

Yeah...maybe next year....*sigh*

21. Well it sounds like you look cute!
I just look mismatched. Our "family night" has already fallen apart. Quel suprise. I think I'm going to quick drink to get things rolling. And you? Toasting with alcohol-free champagne?

10. Looks like I am
I'm pondering that now, and if I'm going to this party I need to jump off my ass and get in gear... but I don't seem to be moving. I'm kind of pissed at myself that I'm even thinking about going because the only reason at this point that I would is because I don't really want to deal with being unindated with questions as to why I didn't show up and what was so important to keep me from showing up. There isn't anything important keeping me from showing up... I just don't feel like getting off my ass and going anywhere.

Oh fuck it. I ain't in a party mood, and I ain't budging.

11. Staying home
Will barbecue some pork chops, have a salad and champagne and watch the Family Guy DVDs Mr Pip got me for Christmas.

I had some wild and crazy New Years Eves in my younger years. San Francisco in the late 60s, early 70s more than makes up for my lack of festive inclinations now.

Happy New Year! :toast:

16. I make it a point never to go out on "Amateur Night" be it NYE or
St Patrick's day or any other hard drinking holiday

I used to work the bar on those days gladly, but never found it a good night to party

and now that I've been sober for years, it's really not appealing at all

17. Me. too many drunks on the road. I'd walk to the bar, but I'd have to cross Rte 1.
Anf given that all my clothes are black, as is my hair, it might be inadvisable to do so.

Besides, every time to go to a bar on New Year's Eve, the ugly girls start eyeing me up for the obligatory midnight liplock (that you're not allowed to refuse) at about 11:30, so I usually didi before the Witching Hour anyway.

18. I'm going to catch up on some e-mail and maybe watch a movie
We have sleet and freezing rain on order. There is no way in hell I'd be out on NH rural roads tonight. I'm sure the ERs will be busy.

Oh yes, Happy New Year everyone.
