Just a few details left. Maybe I'll finish it this year.

4. A lot of little tiny decaling
Like the one below the port wing tank cap in that shot. (It says "MAIN FUEL TANK 92 US GALLS.") Those letters are less than 1/32" inch tall.

Then I'm gonna clear-coat it for protection.

6. Excellent job!
SBD Dauntless.

What did he use for the antenna? I was thinking of stripping a length of speaker wire and using a single strand.

7. It's a metal wire he picked up somewhere..
...when he gets home in an hour or so, I'll ask him. The man has "parts" all over the house. It drives me crazy. He always says, "Don't throw it away, I might need it!" :-)

I'm seriously freakin' anal, though — which you would've witnessed late last night had you seen me positioning tiny little decals with a toothpick to a tolerance of like a brazillionth of an inch.

I'm so anal, I have to eat rice everyday just to get things moving. hahahahhahaa

29. Looks Great! P51 Mustang is my favorite plane.
I'm more of a train guy myself...

I custom painted the locos and built the little engine shed building from scratch.

but I had no idea you made that. :wow:

I could totally get into trains, but to have what I consider a proper layout would require several hundred square feet. Maybe even thousands, depending on the scale.

35. I bought an undecorated locomotive
and painted and weathered it to look well-used and old.

The engine shed was a bakery I bought at a rummage, then took apart board by board and rebuilt it to my specs.

I have drawers and boxes and bins full of parts. I save everything that "might" be used later.

I don't have room or stability enough for a layout, so I joined a modular club and I model in 2' x 4' increments. We then hook our modules together at shows and build layouts like dominos.
