My drive to work this morning was like the scene from TWISTER where
they are driving along a road and dodging debris...

branches...(swerve)

garbage cans...(swerve)

toppled road sign...(swerve)

tree...(swerve)

traffic cone tumble weeds...(swerve)

and then I got to pretend I was an air hockey puck when I crossed the bridge.

Bit of a windstorm today in yvr, gusts over 100 mph.

Good thing I go to work at 3:00am, at least I didn't have to dodge traffic as well.

12. Get your sleep and don't feel guilty.
I'm still catching up from the year i worked nights, but at least I'm here to catch up instead of in an early grave.

I drove home any time from 2:30 AM to 7AM depending on the work load. I think night time weather is much stranger than day time weather. I actually watched fog banks flowing across the road!

Let's twist again, like we did last winter.

They just talked about the same kind of wind in Oregon. Crazy

13. My stairwell flooded (again)
Which is bad news because the overflow pours in under my door, and can make it as far as the living room. I've lived in the same basement place on Vancouver Island since the early 90s, and the rain's never been so intense as to cause the drains to back up like that. Now it's happened twice so far this winter. (Luckily, I caught the one last night before it reached the carpet, and stuffed a towel up against the door in time. If I hadn't got up in the early hours to go to the bathroom ... and stepped in a puddle of rainwater in the corridor ... I'd still be cleaning up the mess!)

I was going to visit a friend in Burnaby, but that's on hold now because her husband is out with the Hydro crews and we won't be able to work out the scheduling until we get more information.
