My shrink is moving to Thailand

During out last session, she admitted she was apprehensive and worried that she'd be unhappy there or that she'd miss her friends and family - she'll be there for two years because her husband has committed to a job there.

It was kind of fun. I'm a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants sort of person so I reassured her. I told her that change can be extremely positive, that it can open your eyes to new ideas, new experiences, new ways of thought. I urged her to think of it as a beginning, not an ending and to open herself up to the personal growth it could provide. We laughed about it - she said, "We should switch seats for this session." :)

It felt good to be the one providing some guidance.
