Xmas treat for me on Cinemax - "The Killing Fields
Mind you, I don't subscribe to Cinemax, but I have a free preview week of it and I checked to see what was on tonight and there it was - "The Killing Fields". This is one of the most amazing movies I've ever seen in my lifetime and I can assure you I'll be bawling like a baby in about 2.5 hours.

For those who have never seen this extraordinary film, it's the true story about a group of reporters in Cambodia right at the start of Pol Pot's regime (around 1975). It covers the relationship between reporter Sydney Schanberg and his Cambodian assistant Dith Pran (played by real-life cambodian refugee Haing S Ngor.

I won't give out any spoilers to those who have not seen this movie, but the very last scene will have you in tears, especially with the song they play. It's one of the best movie scenes EVER!!!!

Enjoy!!!

1. Have it on video tape
I am a fan of Sam Waterston, and have this as part of his movie collection. It was this film that caused Sam to become interested in the plight of the Cambodian people that continues to this day. It also caused Refugees International to ask him to become a member of their Board of Directors, a post he continues to hold today.

4. I'm at the part where they're trying to make the British Passport
I keep hoping this time that the fake passport will work and he'll be able to get out this time.

That's when you know you're watching a really great movie - when you swear after watching it for the umpteenth time, that'll actually turn out differently some how and everyone will live happily ever after.

Tears are starting to form in my eyes - the passport failed
