In What State (Or Province) Did You Get Your Very First Driver's License?
... and what car were you driving at the time?

I got my first license in Florida and I was driving my mom's 1974 Ford Pinto (baby blue) or my dad's 1976 Pontiac Safari station wagon (with the fake wood-grain panels on the side)... very cool, eh?

It was my aunt's new car, still had the paper tags on it. I couldn't believe she let me drive it before I had a license.

I was driving my sister's '79 Honda Civic. I'd been driving for close to ten years without a license (I was 25) and just never had time to go in for the test so I was pretty relaxed. The guy giving the test had to remind me to put both hands on the wheel - it was a stick and I was just cruising with one hand on the wheel and one on the shift.

He saw that I was pretty competent and just had me drive around the block and then back into the space at the DMV. And that was my test.
