I just got some crappy news.

My friend that's over in Iraq on his second tour was originally due back in September. He told me today that everyone's tour is getting extended for at least four months, so he's there until January at the minimum.

He has a desk-type job over there, but he had also been in a relatively safe part of the country. Next week, they're moving into Baghdad, but he's supposed to keep the same job, but he'll still be closer to the action. I'm just worried that if they need to extend everyone's tours, then he may end up having to do patrols and go out onto the streets.

Everyone please send him some good vibes tonight.

This stupid fucking war has got to end.

I just can't even picture him over there. He's a quiet, artistic guy. One hell of a photographer. Just not what you picture a soldier to be.

It sucked enough when they sent him back for the 2nd tour a week early (on Memorial Day...that's just fucked up) and now he's getting extended. I'm pissed off and worried. He's really pissed and he said he's not worried, but he didn't sound like he was telling the truth.
