He smashed two grand slams, making him the 12th player in Major League history to accomplish that feat. He became the first player in the history of the Major Leagues to crack grand slams from both sides of the plate. And, for the first time in his career, he hit three homers in a game. Oh, did we mention that Mueller had nine RBIs, setting a career high?

Eat that, Yankees!

1. Theo's moves are panning out
Hopefully the new pitcher will work out, too.

This is very exciting!

9. Armando Benitez will take care of that
In the most heartbreaking way possible. Yankee fans will curse the day he joined the team. Doom rides with him like a black cloud.

5. STL boy
Wonderful! Did you know he's from Saint Louis? Too bad he can't pitch as well because that's what we really need.

8. Hey...the Cards won a 2-1 game last night!
The Cards holding anyone to one run is amazing - that Garrett Stephenson was the starting pitcher is even more so! :-)

6. Yeah. The Cubs Sure Didn't Need Mueller.
Idiots! Why we didn't do everything to keep a .300 hitter at 3rd base with nobody in the minors, and after he broke his leg giving up his body to catch a fly ball is baffling.

The Red Sox got a bargain from the Cubs on that one.

7. add Williamson from the Reds and look out Yanks
we have a bullpen, repeat, we have a bullpen.

Inman Square told me to be patient, Bill James knows what he's doing and boy were you right.

Also heard today that George summoned all of his baseball executives to Tampa for a high level meeting.

read: Cashman how are you letting the Red Sox undress you in the trade deadline market.
