New Puppy ("awwww" alert)

Some of you might remember when one of my dogs' cousins (Big Jack) died several months ago. This is the new puppy, "Eir" (pronounced "air"), named for a nordic goddess of healing.

This is her meeting my boy Bodhi this morning. Awwwww..... :)

9. my nephew got his christmas wish yesterday

my sister rescued an 8mo collie/lab mix.

will meet "Drake" when I visit on xmas. my nephew is thrilled!

he's had a rough life for a 12yo kid.

his father gave my sister a pretty bad time until the divorce.
then she was very sick and he transformed himself.
then, he died suddenly just as my sister had recovered.

a second marriage was also a mistake and their on their own again.

she works extraordinarily hard and take great care. but he has no father and no siblings and it's tough.

dogs were always present in my family.

i hope this is a good thing for him.

I had a chaotic childhood and my dog was so steady, so true, so reliably Mike my dog, he did so much for me. Taught me patience, to think about someone other than myself, and the old standby, unconditional love. Hope the same happens for your nephew!
