4. Strongly seconded - gin and tonic is heaven itself.
Also long vodka, and Pimm's.

The perfect accompaniment to a warm summer's day.

7. As far as the gin goes, are you partial to any particular brand?
I like Bombay Sapphire, myself

P.S- I knew there was something I liked about you! We both have good tastes, it would seem....:D

11. I tend to keep 3 in the cupboard.
Bombay Saphire,
Tanqueray,
Plymouth.

So it would seem that we both have excellent tastes, and there's plenty to like about you.

3. Mint julep or mojito.
:9

Or both, they're the same, basically, just use rum for the mojito, bourbon for the julep.

6. Just make sure to use light rum.
If it keeps the Cubans cool in the Caribbean heat, it's gotta work, right. :D

8. Mulled wine. Hot buttered rum.
:P

Try a mint julep, mojito, caipiranha, gin and tonic, Martini, Aviation. The Moscow Mule is also a brilliant hot weather drink, and totally under-rated and under-appreciated.

12. It's a drink!
Edited on Sat Jul-15-06 04:02 PM by Rabrrrrrr
2 ounces vodka
1 ounce lime juice
4 ounces ginger beer

And use a really good ginger beer, that actually tastes of and has the bite of ginger.

Serve preferably in a copper cup. Stir vodka and juice together in a chilled collins glass. Add fresh cracked ice, top with chilled ginger beer, garnish with lime squeeze.

14. Oh, and the Hemingway Daiquiri is a good hot weather one, too
1.5 ounces light rum
0.25 ounce maraschino liqueur (this is REALLY hard to find, and NOTHING will subsitute for it)
0.75 ounce lime juice
0.25 ounce grapefruit juice

Shake, serve straight up, with lime wheel.

If I had rum in the house, I'd make a mojito right now.

I like vodka better than rum.

I'm hung over after one vodka drink. It sucks. Anything else, I can drink like a champ.

22. Alcohol isn't always good
on the hottest days. It is known to cause dehydration. I stick with iced tea, though I know a lot of people prefer simply ice water or lemonade.
