1. I didn't stick around for it either.
But apparently he wakes up in the body of that "comatose" mutant they described in the beginning of the movie.

Kind of a dumb way to write Patrick Stewart out of the movies. Why'd he leave anyway? It was successful and I thought he liked that sort of thing.

3. It's in a class lecture back at the Mutant Academy.
Storm or Jean or somebody is showing a video to a class of Dr. Moira MacTaggert (an old X-men character, if you haven't read the comic book) giving medical treatment to comatose patient. Apparently this subject's mutant power turns him into a vegetable. The teacher then, in a truly remarkable piece of fore-shadowing, describes how a dying mutant telepath could transfer his/her soul into the subjects body upon death- but that's all hypothetical.

4. That's about it... (spoiler below)
Edited on Wed Jul-12-06 01:06 PM by Hong Kong Cavalier
There was a brief scene early on in the movie where Prof X was teaching a class about ethics.
Dr. Moira McTaggert was on a video screen describing a person in a comatose state, and the Prof
was discussing how ethical it would be to transfer a dying person's mind into the comotose person
to "save their life."

The scene didn't play for more than 45 seconds, so if you blinked, you probably missed it.
But it's a way to get Prof X back into the franchise, should they choose to do another movie.

As far as I know, Patrick Stewart loves playing Professor Xavier, and I belive he'd love to do
another movie. And with the not-so-subtle hint with Magneto at the end of the movie, I have to
belive someone will want to film "X-Men 4: The Really Last Stand"

On edit: Bornaginhooligan above described it a bit better.

12. Regarding Magneto
His moving of the chess piece. Is the 'cure' wearing off or is Magneto weakened to that point ?

15. Yeah, the chess piece wiggled.
Implying that while Magneto might not be the villain in the next one, he might be back.

14. Fox has already confirmed that there will be an X-Men 4.
Edited on Wed Jul-12-06 03:21 PM by Xithras
Like the X-Men comic books, the story is going to wander away from the mutants in the first three movies and start focusing on some of the others. One of the reasons the X-Men comic books have so many fans is the never ending supply of mutants, and related stories to go along with them. The movies started with the "core", but starting with 4 will begin a new story arc that focuses on others. I haven't seen any comments about which mutants will be in the fourth movie, but I'd guess that they'll be "students" from the first three. Because Xavier is so central to the comic books, I'm sure they'll figure out some way to bring him back (in the comic books, he was killed and resurrected several times).

The work on a Wolverine movie has already started too, and the head of Fox has mentioned that they're in the early stages of a Magneto movie (focusing on Magneto and Xavier when they were younger).

Personally, I'm waiting for a Silver Surfer movie...he was always my favorite :) And lucky me, there's a Fantastic $ & Silver Surfer movie coming next year! Unfortunatly it will focus on the coming of Galactus when SS was a bad guy :(
