Poll question: In re: the roughly 4,376 fireworks displays in Milwaukee each summer

I'm not talking about the neighbor kids shooting off some Roman candles -- I mean the full, public, professional fireworks shows.

The city of Milwaukee seems to have fireworks every Friday and Saturday of summer (due to the numerous lakefront festivals), plus some days in between (Memorial Day, July 3 at the lake, July 4 scattered throughout the city, opening day of Summerfest, Labor Day, etc.).

Your thoughts? (extrapolate to your own metro area if necessary)

My own take is #3. Possibly because I'm within earshot of the lake (although it's not as bad as last year when the explosions made my SO's building shake). It gets old.

1. It's overkill.

Even if it is for Summerfest, or the other "fests". It's like when the grocery stores started stocking strawberries year-round. Now you never know when they're good, or tasteless. :(

2. when we were kids, it was so much fun -

a once a year occurrence. Now it's so common here that it has little magic, at least for me. I think it's overkill.
