93. Basic idea:
It's about the Bluth Family - a wealthy family of Orange County socialites who suddenly go bankrupt when the patriarch, George Bluth Sr. gets arrested at his retirement party on charges of fraud and corruption. So the only one who's capable of re-building the family's former wealth is the son Michael Bluth (Jason Bateman) who has basically denounced the family.

the killer was not revealed until the final episode. So alot of people watched all of the shows.

Take the time to check out Firefly. I don't think you'll be disappointed. The show was a hit and it should still be on. Fuck Fox!

Then the shift focused to Windham Earle and the Black/White Lodges. It got cancelled after season two because of declining ratings because people stopped watching.

225. Did you watch the whole series?
They did reveal the killer as "Bob" but there were alot of unanswered questions on who Bob really was. It kept my interest because it was so radically different than anything on TV at the time. It was a show people either loved or hated and the second season got pretty bizarre at times so I'm sure it lost viewers, but I stuck till the end and enjoyed it all.

224. A British series
created in 1975 by John Cleese and his then-wife, Connie Booth. The title represents the name of a hotel owned by Basil Fawlty (Cleese) and his wife, Sybil (Prunella Scales) and is based on an actual experience the Monty Python troupe had while staying at the Gleneagles, a hotel in Torquay, during a location shoot there. The owner was incredibly rude to the guests, and Cleese left Python in 1974 partly because he wanted to work on a series about the guy and his hotel.

Sadly, they filmed only 12 episodes, but they're all screamingly funny. It was voted "Best sitcom ever" by BBC viewers awhile back.

Here's a vidcap of the most famous scene — Basil goose-stepping out of the dining room after miserably failing in his attempts to not offend some German guests.

Since there were as Oeditpus Rex pointed out only 12 episodes made (and not deleted by the Beeb like they did with earlier work... like Doctor Who) - and you can easily get them on DVD.

Mark.

with Rob Lowe as a lawyer in a firm whose senior partner dies mysteriously in the pilot, it was supposed to be his first big debut after he left West Wing, it lasted four episodes, maybe less, it was really good. The story arc was huge, which is why the interruption was so disappointing.

I loved it when it was on regularly and watched every episode. Then, years later, when I had my daughter, I layed around the house nursing her and watching reruns of it daily. I still never get tired of watching that show.

328. There's a "Best Of" DVD, but that's it so far
I've heard that the producers are currently undergoing some legal wrangling to secure the rights to the songs they used on the show so that the episodes on DVD will be as they were originally broadcast. Can't happen soon enough, IMO. I loved that show!

Here's a transcript of the ending voiceover from the finale episode that should answer some of your questions. Enjoy. :)

Once upon a time there was a girl I knew, who lived across the street. Brown hair, brown eyes. When she smiled, I smiled. When she cried, I cried. Every single thing that ever happened to me that mattered, in some way had to do with her. That day Winnie and I promised each other that no matter what, that we'd always be together. It was a promise full of passion and truth and wisdom. It was the kind of promise that can only come from the hearts of the very young. The next day Winnie and I came home. Back to where we'd started. It was the 4th of July in that little suburban town. Somehow though, things were different. Our past was here, but our future was somewhere else. And we both knew, sooner or later, we had to go.

It was the last July I ever spent in that town. The next year, after graduation, I was on my way. So was Paul. He went to Harvard, of course. Studied law. He's still allergic to everything. As for my father...well...we patched things up. Hey, we were family. For better or worse. One for all...and all for one. Karen's son was born in that September. I gotta say, I think he looks like me. Poor kid. Mom, she did well: business woman, board chairman, grandmother...cooker of mashed potatoes. The Wayner stayed on in furniture. Wood seemed to suit him. In fact he took over the factory two years later....when dad passed away. Winnie left the next summer to study art history in Paris. Still we never forgot our promise. We wrote to each other once a week for the next eight years. I was there to meet her, when she came home, with my wife and my first son, eight months old. Like I said, things never turn out exactly the way you planned.

Growing up happens in a heartbeat. One day you're in diapers; next day you're gone. But the memories of childhood stay with you for the long haul. I remember a place...a town...a house like a lot of other houses... A yard like a lot of other yards...on a street like a lot of other streets. And the thing is...after all these years, I still look back... with wonder.

(credits roll, with voiceover) Young boy's voice: Hey Dad, wanta play catch?

Narrator (Kevin): I'll be right there.

175. my wife has
all the books, but has them scattered through storage, and her parents house...she wants me to read them also. She is a big fan of LHOTP, and thats when I started getting her Seasons of LHOTP on dvd. Then, I got bored of watching uhf channels, and watched the seasons...

I was rather impressed, that they could keep a show so fresh...and some of the episodes were pretty damn dark...dealing with rape, a religous freak woman, who tries controlling her town via the bible, a rw bible thumper, who controls his daughters life, and goes off the deep end, when she becomes pregnant...hmm, Mary's baby dying in a fire, lots of stuff...shit, that I didn't think they would allowed back in the 70's, to early 80's...

And, to be honest, I actually loved it when Charles would get worked up and start kicking ass! There was one episode where Caroline gets sexually harrassed by the bullies in town, and charles goes up to there cabin, knocks on the door, the minute the door opens, his fist flies! it was hysterical....:) I never knew, that one day, I would watch all episodes of LHOTP...when I was growing up, LHOTP was the dumbass show on tbs, before Chips!...;)

180. oh, yes, for sure...
but they had their moments...:) The first three seasons where absofuckinglutely boring as can be...but it started picking up in season 4-5, with the addition of Albert, and Mary losing her eyesight....but, tastes vary...I always thought it was dorky, until i watched them all, a good number of them are, but a good number of them, are very memorable, and good...

example of horeshit one:charles adopted kid, in season...8, or so, gets shot, and charles goes crazy, and goes off wandering the woods, with his wounded kid, and he builds an alter to god, with a cross on it, and he prays and prays for a miracle, for the kid to live...at the end, and old man tells charles to pray at so and so time, and later on that night, charles does pray. Lighting hits the charles damn little shrine of "whatever" and he passes out. He wakes up the next morning, his kid is awake, no wounds...that is probably hands down, my least favorite show...it was hokey as can be....

example of good: I liked the addition of Isiah Edwards...he was about the only person in the show i could connect with, because of all his faults...the Ingalls family faults, were petty at best....and Edwards, seemed...to actually be a real person....

It wasn't what I expected--it's better. I love Jason Lee, so I was there from the get-go just for him, but I expected it to be purely goofy/wacky. It is, but it also has a wonderful moral lesson--but not whack-on-the-head moral--and a lot of heart. The characters are all decent folk, deep down. Great stuff. Grab the DVDs as soon as they come out--I'll give 'em the MorningGlow Seal of Approval without hesitation.

Edit: Just curious--why can't you see it on TV? No cable and funky reception? If so, been there...

308. I think I've seen every one too
My wife and I used to watch the reruns on Lifetime before bed every night until we'd seen each one about two or three times.

That show doesn't get the credit it deserves. Stan was my favorite. I loved how he'd always introduce himself at the door even though he was married to Dorothy for 40 years or something like that. "Hey Dorothy it's me your ex-husband Stan."

62. I've got Buffy, Due South & Firefly on DVD....
Although I'd already seen all of Buffy & DS before I bought the DVD's.

Bought Firefly sight unseen--I came late to appreciation of Joss Whedon. Of course, I've watched all the episodes, multiple times. (Damn Fox!)

I've seen all of Angel & Xena. Plus quite a few of the Brit Classics; easy, since their "season" is shorter. Of course, I saw all of "classic" Star Trek. Other "old" shows? Maybe--but that was so long ago!

All of Max Headroom; where's the DVD? And all of Brisco County Jr; the DVD comes out next month!

(I was an early X-Files fan but lost interest in the last years.)

I also watched all of the Quantum Leap episodes back in the day along with Murphy Brown, Twin Peaks and all those a bit quirky late 80's, early 90's sitcoms. Now nothing except The Simpsons and The Family Guy interest me. Other than that I am on the Internets or watching something from The History Channel or one of the Discovery channels.

The first two were in syndication throughout my childhood, and usually were on right after we got home from school.

Soap was a show my parents really thought was hysterical, and they let us watch it. I've seen every episode of it at least once.

Also, I've probably seen every WKRP episode, at least from the original series.

And I haven't missed an episode of Lost yet.

it's hard to describe really what it's like. Except perhaps, think a cross between ER and Desperate Housewives. It's got more nighttime soap aspects to it than ER, but it's not campy. They've had some really interesting storylines.

202. Oh sorry, I could have said that originally!
It's about a group of hospital interns. The first season was a lot about the challenges they faced, now it's more about the patients and how they deal with them. Then there's the other doctors in the hospital...their superiors.

The non-ER part is that the interns have affairs with the doctors, one of which is married to another doctor, which creates all sorts of drama. The head intern's mother was an extremely well respected surgeon, who wasn't as perfect as her daughter thought she was.

There's basically 2 aspects to the show...the medical and the soapy relationship drama. The medical cases are usually really interesting (for example, in one episode a guy had an unexploded bomb in his chest and the doctors had to hold it until the bomb squad could come detonate it). The relationship stuff can get annoying, but it works well with the medical stuff.

to support her family starring Mary-Louise Parker. She suddenly became a widow and selling pot to friends and acquaintances in her affluent suburb is how she "makes ends meet". The characters are great and the story is quite interesting.

Nancy has recently lost her husband to a heart attack, suffered while he was out jogging with their youngest son, Shane (Alexander Gould). Watching Shane watch home videos of his dad on the camcorder, we see that Mr. Botwin was a laid back, caring father, and his family misses him. Struggling to maintain their comfort-plus lifestyle, Nancy has become the main supplier of quality herb in the Southern California town of Agrestic. The town is more or less one giant pre-fab subdivision, full of McMansions and drive-through Starbucks. According to the series' theme song: "And there's doctors/And there's lawyers/And business executives/And they're all made out of ticky-tacky/And they all look just the same."

Ambitious and smart, Weeds makes the point that the Bill Mahers and Ricky Williamses of the world have making for some time now -- getting high is not just the province of stoners, surfers, and thugs. Nancy embodies the link between Nino Brown and Ray A. Kroc, bringing the supply and the demand closer together, while building something for herself, one satisfied customer at a time. Isn't that the American dream?

Including the missing ones?

If so, got any recordings of the real early ones? The BBC would *love* to hear from you because there are many, many missing Doctor Who episodes, especially from the Hartnell & Troughton doctor eras, and even some missing from the Pertwee and Tom Baker era.

Now I've seen all the *new* Doctor Who episodes (the ones made since the turn of the millenium) but I haven't seen all episodes by far, and by the way things are going to work out I don't think I ever will.

Many times over in syndication.

I can "mute" and recite a lot of the dialogue.

Though the latter 2 were easy since there were only 6 episodes of each. 54 episodes of U.D.

Edited on Mon Jun-26-06 01:57 PM by YankeyMCC
you see if I like a show I make a point of seeing all the eps. So this is a big long even though I don't watch much tv on a daily basis

MASH

Star Trek (TOS, TNG, VOY, DS9, ENT)

Farscape

Firefly (not to hard there there were unfortunately so few)

Buffy - I think, I didn't start watching until after Firefly aired and I caught them in syndication on a rather irregular basis but I think I got them all

The New Battlestar Galactica (it's still on going but I've seen them all so far)

NYPD Blue

Seinfeld

Cheers

Possibly Simpsons

Others from my much younger days I probably saw all but can't be sure since they haven't been regularly rerun for me to watch several times (like the Treks and MASH): Space 1999, Six Million Dollar Man, Lost in Space, Original BSG

and I don't get HBO. A friend taped them and lent them to me.

And from longer ago and already mentioned, Twin Peaks.
The first couple episodes of Twin Peaks are well worth renting and watching. The show was so unlike anything else at the time and seemed to hold so much potential and hidden meaning. Eventually, people realized they were stringing the audience along and most of it had no meaning but was outre for its own sake.

Its tough to have missed Survivor during the past six years. I think everyone with a TV has seen M*A*S*H, Cheers and Star Trek TNG (since they are on various syndication networks several times a day. Deadwood, Carnivale, The Sopranos and Six Feet Under are all recent HBO shows. Star Trek DS9 was not very popular outside the SciFi universe, but I loved it. I assume all liberals with access to TV have seen at least one episode of The West Wing.

Even when it turned south in seasons 3-5. I put up with it, because it was usually worth watching to see my favorite actor playing a great character. But let me tell you, I might as well have not bothered, for all the reward we loyal fans got with the finale. It was written at about the level of a college kid pulling an all-nighter to get a term paper done on time. I could almost hear the writers saying, "Oh, no! We have two hours to wrap up plot lines that have been hanging around since season 1! Let's get moving, people!" None of it made sense, and it just rushed from one thing to the next. Plus, they killed off my aforementioned favorite character! :grr:

Probably seen every Golden Girls, and I'm closing in on every episode of the King of Queens. Think I've seen every Strangers With Candy episode also.

I'm guessing when I was a kid I saw every episode of the following shows that were always on reruns on the local UHF station:

Sanford and Son
All in the Family
Taxi
Good Times
What's Happening
The Brady Bunch
Gilligans Island

315. Highest Rated Canadian Television Show of All Time.
I watched it on CBC, when I was in elementary and middle school.

It's sort of like a far better, Canadian-style Little House on the Prairie.

320. 24 and Lost
are the two I know for sure I've seen every episode because I saw then all in order. I saw seasons 1-4 of "24" last summer and saw every episode of season 5 last season. It's very addictive.

Likewise I saw both seasons of Lost over a few weeks and will follow it once it reairs in the fall.

I loved ST:TNG when it was on, but there are many episodes I never saw. I may have seen every episode of Seinfeld, but am not sure. I used to watch the Simpsons religiously but over the last few seasons I have only seen sporadic episodes. I used to watch the X-Files but started watching it a few seasons into it.

I saw several episodes of Arrested Development. That show was funny as hell. I lost track of it when they changed the day though. It's too bad they got rid of it. I'll have to catch the episodes on DVD sometime.

324. Sleeper Cell
Edited on Tue Jun-27-06 04:50 AM by edwardlindy
Watching it would really spook you. Has it even been shown in the USA ?

Made me wonder if that's where the FBI got the idea of stitching up those guys down in Miami -aka The Miami 7.

325. Yeah it's on Showtime I believe

which is the website you pointed to. It's considered a premium cable/sat station in the US.

I remember hearing about it sometime back, but since I don't have Showtime, never bothered. I think I might check it out.

Though I have to say in some ways what 24 has going for it is that the plots are not always about Islamist terrorist groups, but sometimes they are over the top, and unrealistic, which also add to the fun.

331. Boston Legal, Firefly, Scrubs, My Name is Earl
Good thing Scrubs is on DVD, since I didn't get into it until toward the end of Season 3. I'll be picking up My Name is Earl when it comes out, too.

Oh, and Invader Zim. I'm far too old to be watching cartoons, but it's so weird and funny I can't help myself.

332. Dukes of Hazzard.
Greedy local bigwigs attempt to scheme good folks out of money every week. Fortunately, the '2 modern day Robin Hood' foil their attempts and give any reward money to the local orphanage or other charity at the end of each episode.

Actor Ben Jones who played Cooter Davenport went on to become Representative Ben Jones. (D- GA)

Official Duke motto: 'A stranger is just a friend we haven't met yet.'

In one episode, the Dukes stop agents of a corporation from dumping hazzardous material. In another, the Dukes provide shelter and a helping hand to an old friend just out of prison. And in every episode, the Dukes side with the poor and beaten down and against the powerful and the greedy.

These days, 'Dukes' is tough to watch because of real life parrallels. The * administration is a real life Boss and Sheriff Roscoe operation without an Enis Straight type insider. And instead of their plans being foiled each week, they succeed!

Scary shit I tell ya!
