1. I can mimic almost any accent.
The only passable impersonations that I can do are Charles Laughton and Hank Hill.

9. Yep that Jiminy Glick, Clinton, the grinch face, lots of other ones
I can't even think of all of them that I do. I call co-workers to tell them to pick up their expense checks (very infrequently) and I will do it in the Clinton voice (if I know them) it freaks them out.

The grinch face is really odd becasue I look nothing like the Grinch I just found out I could do it one day. Kids love it.

I also do a voice that telemarketers can't tell the age, race, sex, or most anything about. It drives my wife crazy. I've only done it full blown on about 5 occasions, how else are you going to get someone calling from the New York Times to say that yes indeed there are "boobies" in the NYT (he recommended looking in the lifestyles section).

8. I've actually done a few VO's in my time.
Edited on Fri Dec-12-03 04:34 PM by XNASA
VO is the acronym for VoiceOver. Let's see, I was the voice of a cartoon rocket in a NASA production. I did it like a cross between Jerry Lewis and Larry Fine.

I was recently featured as the voice of the employee who violated company ethics and was dismissed in an Ethics Program our department produced for my current employer. I was very evil.

I've got a very realistic Texas impression that I gleaned from my 6 years of living down there.

Curiously enough, my real speaking voice is very nasally. One of those Midwestern/Chicago accents kinda like Dennis Farina. Not very smooth or appealing at all. I cringe when I hear my speaking voice.

I'd love to hear you're Valley Girl sometime, John.

14. Do you have an ear for VO's
I do, my wife loves when I just blurt out a name and she listens for a second and usually agrees.

Lowes-Gene Hackman
Honda-Richard Dreyfus
Home Depot-the guy who played nextdoor neighbor on "Home Improvement"
I think they new Vice City Grand Theft Auto comercials are David Duchoveny

Let's see what are some other ones....

the voice of the kid in "The Wonder Years" was Daniel Stern (I think his name is) he was Bruno Kirby and Billy Crystals pal in "City Slickers"

And survivors of the Sun King's reign tell me it's spot-on.

I'm working on my Sophocles at the moment. I've got an entire bit where all the Greek philosophers are sitting around, getting drunk. Catch it next spring at Trump's Taj Mahal in Atlantic City. In the main room, natch...
