Nadia Boulanger - did any of you study with her? I'm listening to an album
Edited on Mon Jun-19-06 03:25 PM by Rabrrrrrr
of music by Monteverdi performed by her and the "Nadia Boulanger" ensemble.

I know some of the famous greats studied with her: Philip Glass, Joe Raposo, Copland, Elliot Carter, David Diamond, Walter Piston, and so on. Did you?

I think that, beyond that one opera of Monteverdi's, this is the only other Monteverdi music I've ever heard - hautningly and enchantingly beautiful.

It's mostly songs for one or just a few voices, and piano with other instrumentation in a small way.

14. I'm not a serious musician, but I love Baltimore. Used to live in DC.
Stayed at an old hotel (can't remember its name) near Peabody last time I went to Baltimore for the incredible party at the American Visionary Arts Museum.

2. Joe Raposo?!? You mean like Sesame Street Joe Raposo?
Then why does everything he wrote for general music textbooks sound exactly the same?
