Question for fellow Comcast broadband users....
Has your bandwidth or speed for downloading gone down significantly? Mine has dramatically, when I first started downloading on Kazaa the average speed was 35- 65 KB now it’s at less than 10KB WTF. Does Comcast limit your speed after a certain threshold? BASTARDS.

1. Could be the Kaaza node you are...ahem...borrowing from.
Either the person on the other end throttled their max upload speed or a lot of people started downloading from the same node and you now sharing that node's bandwidth with the others.

2. DSL Reports
You may find some answers here at this forum.

I stopped using Kazaa because of slow speeds and fake files.

Have you got the new download speeds yet?

5. You could try Shareaza...
Edited on Fri Dec-12-03 02:49 AM by M0rpheus
It combines the Kazaa, Edonkey/emule and Bittorrent networks into one interface...
www.shareaza.com

If you want just bittorent you could try the official site...
http://bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/

or one of many other sites with a modified BT client.

With BT, though you will have to go to a tracker site and find what you are looking for rather than just a simple search. But the DL speed can be really good if there are enough people DLing that file.

Some BT Tracker sites:
www.suprnova.org... if that one is down try this mirror (http://suprnova.novasearch.net/) it seems to always be up.
Http://voracity.net (its ok, but not as good as suprnova)

And I highly recommend the DSLReports (now Broadband Reports)
P2P forum ( ) for information. Stay away from the politics though, it can get pretty rough in there.

Also www.zeropaid.com has excellent information as well.

Enjoy! :)

Edit: added a little punctuation... Not much though, and its probably still wrong (oh well)

6. Comcast caps P2P users.
Edited on Fri Dec-12-03 02:54 AM by classics
Check out the comcast forums at www.dslreports.com

They automatically cap anyone who uploads a lot at a low rate.

Also watch out because Comcast is target #1 on the RIAA hit list. Comcast users get more DMCA letters than any other ISP.
