7. According to my sister...
Edited on Fri Jun-09-06 03:46 PM by arwalden
... Ms. Swanson was generally disliked by most who worked with her. She said Swanson didn't appear to be having fun... and was bossy. Maybe that's the beast the movie poster is talking about.

Like from 1995 or so.

Whad does your sister do?

21. She Plays The Ex-Wife Of Judd Nelson's Character...
... my sister is not REALLY an actress. She just stumbled in to the role as an "extra" who has a few lines.

I wonder how much interest your loan has earned since 1995. You should probably be close to $8 or $9 by now.

22. Not as much as the annecdote.
It was about 9:00am and I was working on a movie called "Mob Story" (later retitled "For a Few Lousy Dollars", which isn't much better). We were shooting in a small town called Maple Ridge, about two hours outside of Vancouver. Judd Nelson came up to me and said, Hey, CanuckAmok, can I borrow five bucks, man?

So I gave him five bucks, which was all I had on me.

I figured he wanted to get cigarettes or something.

There was this big ol' windowless cowboy saloon across from where we were shooting, but it was closed (the bars in BC don't open before 11:00am).

About a half-hour later (9:30am), I see Judd walking across the main street of this town, big ol' smile on his face, and with a mostly-full pint of beer (in one of those old-west style draught mugs with a handle on the side).

I'm all like, "hey, where did you find a beer at 9:30 in the morning?", and he's all like "I had to keep banging on the door of that bar over there. They didn't want to serve me at firrt, but then I dangled that five dollar bill in front of them. That pretty much sold 'em. Sometimes you have to grease a few palms."

:wtf:

I say to him, just so you know, it's illegal to drink alcohol in public up here, and he's all like "Really? Wow. Oh, that's okay, I'll just down it."

And he did.

What I imagine really happened was the owner was in the place cleaning all the previous night's sawdust and teeth off the floor, and loony ol' Judd Nelson starts pounding on the door. When the guy eventually answers it, Judd Nelson says "Hi. I'm Judd Nelson, and if you don't give me a beer right now, I'm just going to stay right here until you do."

24. I know!
I had fun imaginging the thought-bubble over Judd's head, in which the grateful barkeep has just hung and leveled a framed Canadian five dollar bill over the cash-register, an he and his family step back to admire it...

25. Can You Imagine What It Must Be Like To Own A Delicatessen?
Edited on Sat Jun-10-06 06:01 PM by arwalden
You get all KINDS of celebs coming in... giving autographed photos, personalized endorsements of your corner restaurant... and expecting a free hoagie in return. A small price to pay to feel important and loved... even if only in a superficial way. At least it impresses the customers.

13. It's Going To Be BETTER!!
(Maybe.)

Hey...it's made-for-TV. Low-budget with has-been B-list stars that need to make a car payment so they'll take ANY role just to make ends meet. Don't expect too much.

18. "An artificial black hole, created in a St. Louis lab, threatens the earth
with an unchecked expansion. As if that wasn't enough disaster for Kristy Swanson, Judd Nelson and Jennifer Quackenbush, they have to track down an energy monster that escapes from the black hole's space-time fissure, because the rampaging beast is the only way to close the singularity."

Yep... that sounds like a gub'mint experiment gone horribly wrong to me too. It would definitely fit in with the theme of the day.

Edited on Sat Jun-10-06 01:33 PM by haruka3_2000
Apparently, Judd Nelson has played a nerdy researcher in several bad sci-fi movies. The one I saw was about the Bermuda Triangle.

At least Ally Sheedy went on to make some good indy films.

31. This movie was really bad
not even in a campy "Attack of the killer tomatoes" way.

Its kinda sad, because the premise wasn't terrible for a scifi/disaster flick.
