Black (grey) squirrel...grey tail
This is so bizarre. I wish I could take a pic of this critter. His tail is grey from the middle to the tip. I've never seen coloring like it before.

2. Probably an example of melanism (opposite of albinism)
I've heard of, but not seen, black squirrels. There used to be a couple of white squirrels shacked up near my parents' house. A very, very strange sight!

but I've only seen them entirely black.

It looked more like this one, but he wasn't as bushy-tailed, and his tail was only grey from the middle to the tip...
