ARGH - a rant about obituaries.
sometimes I hate the Star Tribune (Minneapolis newspaper).

I have the print edition of the today's (Sunday June 4). In it is printed L's obituary (L is my son's "grandpa" - see my journal). But I went to the Star Tribune's website just now, and L's obituary is not included in the online edition.

:grr:

I am also a little upset by the print obituary too. My ex is likely the one who gave the information to either the newspaper or the funeral director. My ex left out that L had earned a purple heart, had served in the US Marine Corps (the obit did mention that he was a WW II vet). L had no actual family as his survivors, but had in essence (but not legally) adopted my ex as his son. So there is nothing about the fact that L was survived by my ex, or my son. Actually I am more than a little upset by this, I am downright pissed. L was proud to have been a Marine, and that detail being left out of the obituary was really stupid. My ex happens to be the World's Biggest Tightwad (TM), so I am sure he was trying to get the obituary down to the fewest lines possible, but Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, USMC is only four letters.

L, wherever you are, Semper Fi, old man!

1. Thats too bad
I know the obituary was bs wrote but I suggest you do what I did with my nana's obituary. Cut it out and put in, well in your case it would be your wallet or purse which is what I assume you got. They did that with my dad's dad too, they didn't list him as a survivor, listed his brothers, sisters, brother, sister, children but not my dad.

3. If you feel like doing that, that would be for the best
I really am sorry that you lost someone so important to you. I hope you give a good speech at his service or whatever he has done.

13. Thank you
Though I was talking more about the fact that Gomer couldn't stop smiling when Gunnery Sergeant Hartman was yelling at him. Whenever my dad would yell at me and my brothers we couldn't stop grinning. We even have a name for it, "Pyle Smile"

15. No it was Hartman played by R Lee Ermey
I don't remember a Sergeant Carter. I loved the first part of the movie though, wasn't too impressed at the second part because my favorite characters weren't in it.

8. It is short for semper fidelis
It is Latin for ever faithful.

Semper Fi is THE slogan for the US Marine Corps.
