Kitten Gets Head Stuck In Toilet

A trashed toilet spelled trouble for a curious Key Largo kitten this week.

“I've seen cats stuck in a lot of places, but I'd never seen this before,” said Marsha Garrettson, manager at the Key Largo Animal Shelter.

A man walked into the shelter Wednesday carrying “what seemed to be a box,” Garrettson said. “Then I saw a cat head stuck in a pipe.”

The young male kitten, estimated to be no more than 10 weeks old, tried to crawl through a plastic pipe in the water tank of a discarded toilet. He made it in, but didn't make it out.

Dave Vargas, working maintenance behind Trade Winds Plaza in Key Largo, investigated a strange noise coming from a wooded area.

“I was kind of shocked when I saw what it was,” Vargas said. “I tried to get him out, but couldn't. Then I took the whole thing to the shelter.”

9. I handled a puppy who got his little head stuck in a discarded tire wheel.

Poor little guy was stuck for hours.

We ended up using vegetable oil to get him out.

10. That's nothing, I sealed up my kitty in the wall once

Redoing the bathroom, putting the finishing touches to the green board that the bathtub time was going to hang from. Got a call, went out and answered it, and then came back and patched a couple of holes that were left, went and got a beer, thinking I was done for the night.

About an hour later I start hearing our kitten(about three months old) meowing real pitifuly. Got up and started looking for the cat, and traced the sound to behind my freshly done greenboard. "Meow, Mrrow, Rowrrowrrowr!" Opened up a hole in the wall and out she popped, none the worse for her fun. Apparently she had climbed in the hole while I was on the phone, curled up and went to sleep, after which a proceded to wall her in.
