70. that doesn't seem so weird to me, because
My daughter and I both listen to metal and we once heard a couple of techno songs on the radio, got all excited thinking someone had started a new station with techno on it, you know, something different. (We have mainly Tejano and Country and 1 whole "rock" station)

Turns out it was just a song or two, but we decided that if we won a big lotto, we would start a radio station for the metal heads here, and it would have a techno hour. Maybe it goes together...somehow? Then again, we might have had too much sun that day. :D

89. It does go together.
My husband is a dj of 16 years and a music major. We spend hours upon hours analyzing what music is related to which. really good techno pulls from everywhere;and is often structured sonically like rock songs. What is REALLY cool is that I have TONS of tech remixes of rock/metal songs; and there is a new trend in tech/dance to use guitar riffs to give energy to an otherwise "girly pop" sound.
We're all about this stuff.
To clarify; he's a topless club dj (you have to know EVERYTHING to be that; and he is NOT the cheesy kind; I promise)and spins tech (Technics Grand Masters).

90. According to most ppl on this board....
Nickleback is my horrible guilty pleasure. I get irritated; because no one seems to give this new album the kudos it deserves; or likes the obvious homage they pay to past metal and rock greats. It's a work of genius and I seem to be ridiculed for thinking it as such.

Other than that; I like almost everything; My hubby is a DJ My library goes on forever. Jazz; Musicals; Classical; New Age; 60s; 70s; 80; (pop, new wave, rap, r&b and rock); 90s;(all) a decent amount of the metal and rock and some of the pop from 2000+. oh; and I like country too! But mostly the "new" (late 80s and up) stuff. We are HUGE tech heads.

Favorite embarrasing song picks:

Treat 'em Right--Chubb Rock
The Prisioner--Howard Jones
I Don't Care--Shakespeare's Sister
Bad is Bad--Huey Lewis
When We Kiss--Bardeux

I could go on for hours; and ususally do.

83. I really don't have many
I have to have a really good reason for a pleasure to be guilty. I guess Brie Larson counts because she's so teen pop, but then she suprisingly can appeal to a wide audience. Stella Soleil can't sing very well, but she's fun, so she counts. SOME Phil Collins music would qualify. Also The Click Five - their music is cheesy catchiness, but hard to resist. And some of those country novelty songs.

Cheyenne Kimball sounds quite good.. the record companies are finding young talent instead of giving us more Ashlee Simpsons in the making. Not sure she's a guilty pleasure yet, because LeAnn Rimes was making great country at 14! And Sonya Kitchell sounds as mature as someone twice her age.

Hank Williams and Jim Reeves. I've never been into too much modern C&W (sorry, but I call it "twang" music), but the oldies were different for some reason. I don't mind some crossover pop, though, but I tend to listen to either pop or classical. (What a combination, huh?)

121. Masters of War!
Bob Dylan

Come you masters of war
You that build all the guns
You that build the death planes
You that build the big bombs
You that hide behind walls
You that hide behind desks
I just want you to know
I can see through your masks

You that never done nothin'
But build to destroy
You play with my world
Like it's your little toy
You put a gun in my hand
And you hide from my eyes
And you turn and run farther
When the fast bullets fly

Like Judas of old
You lie and deceive
A world war can be won
You want me to believe
But I see through your eyes
And I see through your brain
Like I see through the water
That runs down my drain

You fasten the triggers
For the others to fire
Then you set back and watch
When the death count gets higher
You hide in your mansion
As young people's blood
Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mud

You've thrown the worst fear
That can ever be hurled
Fear to bring children
Into the world
For threatening my baby
Unborn and unnamed
You ain't worth the blood
That runs in your veins

How much do I know
To talk out of turn
You might say that I'm young
You might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know
Though I'm younger than you
Even Jesus would never
Forgive what you do

Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul

And I hope that you die
And your death'll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand o'er your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead
