Was there a Boogy Man in your closet or under your bed?
Come on now, admit it, there was, wasn't there? You could hear him in there sometimes and you even saw him once didn't you?

Or was it a scary toy, stuffed animal or puppet? Or was it just a shadow? Yeah, that's it, it was only a shadow.

3. Snakes
I used to have nightmares that piles of snakes lived under my bed, and at night they'd slither up the wall and across the ceiling. If I stay turned with my back to the wall they wouldn't hurt me.

I really don't like snakes.

7. That's why under the bed and the closet were always
jam-packed with Stuff, so there wouldn't be any room for the Monsters. Unfortunately, that didn't keep the Vampires away from the window...

8. I saw American Werewolf in London when I was very young
and for about 10 years I thought a werewolf lived under my bed. I refused to sleep in my room when there was a full moon.

12. For a while (not sure how long, now) I slept UNDER my bed
Pretty slick move, I thought....I'd make sure it was all clear while the lights were on and, that way, deprive any monsters of the element of surprise...indeed, I'd surprise those f***ers by already occupying their domain.

It worked.

I was a child Sun Tzu, I tell ya...

Seize the low ground.

13. only when we had a babysitter
my mom and dad didn't believe in scaring little children, but the babysitter used to threaten us with the boogie man, getting us, if we didn't go to bed. Then in turn, we told the babysitter, our mom always let us have a cigarette before bed, the stuff hidden on the top shelves was meant for us to play with, and it was okay to jump on the beds.:)

14. Neither
I don't recall having any fears like that as a child. But something very weird happened when I was a sophomore in college. I came home for Christmas and spring break that year and at night I had an overwhelming feeling that there was "something" evil in the house. I would get really creeped out after going to bed, would take forever to go to sleep. I'd lived in that house since 9th grade and had never felt like that before, even if I had been home alone overnight. It was so bad that I made excuses not to come home or do it as little as possible - roommate wants me to visit her home, summer classes, anything. I was never afraid in any of the dorms or the apartment where I lived at school. And I was OK in my house in the daytime. This crap literally kept up until I moved to FL a few months after graduation. And it never happened again.

15. The stuffed clown in my grandmother's guest bedroom
It had a porcelain head that had a cloth strap which was used to hang it from the closet doorknob. Damn that thing was scary! I always threw a fit until they would allow me to sleep on the sofa in the den.
