4. Just finished watching the 1st season on DVD.
Edited on Mon May-08-06 10:52 PM by Clarkie1
It's a great piece of work...and coincidentally on the bonus disc I discovered the opening sequence was filmed at Mokuleia...thought it looked kinda familiar, I was there last summer.

All I can say is, they did a good job of cleaning up the plane wreck (they used an actual L-1011). I didn't even notice any wreckage.

Edit: When I was in Mokuleia I'd never even watched Lost, and didn't know anything about it. A friend of mine gave me the DVD set, and now it's my favorite show.

5. That's cool!
I spent a summer in Hawaii in 1983, and it was wonderful. I don't think we went to that side of Oahu, but it's hard to remember.

Yeah, Lost is a great show. One problem it's had this season, though, is that the continuity is disrupted by reruns and other interruptions. That's made it hard to follow, although I've seen all the episodes so far. You'll have much less of a problem with it if you wait until Season 2 is out on DVD and just do what you did with first season. :)

10. 108 Names of Krishna

Also, 108 is the number of times you are supposed to say "Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare/ Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare" when you pray. (If you are a Hare Krishna). I think you are supposed to do 16 rounds of 108 of those "mahi-mantras" (keeping your place with beads) starting at 4 am, and then several times throughout the day.

12. The number of stitches in a baseball...
Edited on Tue May-09-06 01:00 AM by Clarkie1
The number of beads on a Hindu or Buddist mala (rosary).

There are 12 zodiac signs and 9 planets (traditionally). 9x12=108.

Colonel Yuri Alexeyevich Gagarin was a Soviet cosmonaut and the first human in space. His flight lasted 108 minutes.

The distance from the earth to the moon is 108 times the diameter of the moon

The diameter of the sun is 108 times the Earth's diameter.

Yes, 108 is definitely on of those things that make you say hmmmmmm......the writers of Lost clearly picked it deliberately.

:hi:
