What the hell is "skake"?
I know it is some sort of fish, but that doesn't tell me much. Is it one of the oily, healthy-fat fishes, like salmon or tuna? Or is it more of a mild white fish?

6. it's a virtually inedible "junk" fish
used more often than not to make immitation scallops. But you have to soak the shit out of them or it's like chewing aftermarket rubber noise dampening suspensions bushing's for a 1978 Chrysler Cordoba. Skate doesn't really taste like anything either.

8. it'll taste like butter
You should ask them if they are planning to use the leftovers to bait lobstertraps.

13. Don't you think bait is unnecessarily harsh?
I believe the correct term is trash fish. If you can call a skate a fish that is.;-)

14. when I was growing up, that is what all the offshore lobstermen
used. Skate, stored in 55 gallon drums until it was good and aromatic, to bait their traps.

15. Yep, why waste the good stuff?
In Maine when I was a kid the sand sharks were a choice bait for traps, nice texture and very aromatic. Better yet were the drums of redfish carcasses from the fish factory.
