If you need fast attention from a mod..here's what you do..

Sometimes we notice an obvious troll/freep and we hit the alert.. Bear in mind that there are usually 2-5 mods "assigned" to a particular forum..

Some people have jobs/lives and cannot monitor DU 24/7.. It is just possible that there may not be a mod for that particular forum looking in at that very minute..

You can "sort forum by author"..find a mod who has posted recently (that pretty much says they are HERE"... PM THEM with the offending link included..

Mods CAN moderate each other's forums, but they mainly watch their own, so the mods who ARE here may not have seen the thread that is being alerted on.. Alerts go to the mods for THAT forum..

I PM'ed Newyawker99 the instant I saw Hitlery Clinton, and even though Roni had NOT seen her/it yet, she brought the hammer down..

Mods are V O L U N T E E R S .... They are not required to be ON DUTY 24/7..so.....


Instead of wasting time starting threads about how unfair they are or how they are infiltrators, how about spending that same time looking for one who IS on duty and giving them a head's up :):)

5. The stupidest thing a person can do is start a thread asking if a MOD

is around. If one happens to not be around, it tips off disruptors to that fact as well.

Alert and/or PM is the bestest thing in the world. Starting a thread is the worstest thing in the world, because it just clutters up the board.

Mods love alerts.
