That's all there is to be done. Even if they give you a new security pass, how could you ever touch it knowing what happened to the other one? Some germs might have been passed on some cosmic level ...

5. I did that to a pedometer a couple weeks ago
Thankfully I had just flushed it, so it was "clean". But it killed the pedometer. Or should I say PEE-dometer?
