Name A Movie That Should Have Had A Sequel... But Didn't.
I always thought "Thelma & Louise" should have had a sequel... and a "Moonstruck" sequel might have done well too.

... then they hide in cave or behind some rocks while everyone assumes they died. We pick up with their continued adventures in Mexico.

2. One of my favorite movies is "The Big Country" with
Gregory Peck, Jean Simmons, Burl Ives, Charles Bickford, Charleton Heston, Carroll Baker, Chuck Connors, and Alfonso Bedoya. The cast was great and Peck's part is an inspiration to me. Anyway, there was plenty of material for a sequel or a prequel, for that matter. Great cast.

38. I saw the San Diego premiere of it, and Guy Pearce was the guest star
then after the movie, he went down to the screen and spoke a little bit then took questions from the audience. Someone asked him if they were planning a sequel, and he said that he thinks some things that are done well should be left just like they are. So apparently it will never happen. Or at least if it does, he won't sign up for it.

14. Someone wrote a novel a while back--
--that did continue the story. Forget the writer, but it's called "As Time Goes By"...and believe it or not, it's excellent. We learn a lot about Rick, about Ilse, about Laslo--like why he showed up in Casablanca looking like he had just come back from safari, instead of the Malthausen concentration camp...and it revolves around the Czech underground plot against Heydrich. If you like the movie, this is very much worth looking up--and it'd make a great film...

54. They did a TV series
The DVD included an episode from a series attempt. It just wasn't the same. Better to leave it with Bogie and Claude Rains walking away together.

I read the book sequel and wasn't impressed. But that's just my opinion.

11. I love the film, too
but I think a sequel would ruin it. The movie is about hope, and nothing is going to keep up with his vision of what may happen.

I think Shawshank losing the Oscar to Forrest Gump (hated it!) is the biggest travesty of the Academy Awards ever.

9. "Triumph of the Will"
In order to capture the ideal and the horrible reality it created. A sequel consisting of documentary footage of Nazi death camps, atrocities committed against various eastern European ethnic groups, war dead, bombing raid victims, etc., all set to Wagner.

Of course, this would require that Leni Riefenstahl saw the err of her ways. Which she never did.

Because it is one of the best. movies. ever. There are rumors that the Cohens are going to make a movie about Jesus (from Lebowski, not another Passion) which would be kind of like a sequel. "Nobody fucks with the Jesus."

19. Labyrinth
It's allegedly getting an official sequel, but as a manga comic (with no plans to turn it into a feature). I'm sceptical as to whether another film would work without Jim Henson at the helm, so it's possibly best one isn't made.

27. ooooh, I love Labyrinth!
And as much as part of me thinks, "don't fuck with perfection," the idea of a sequel is intriguing. And I would love to see Jennifer Connelly and Bowie together again...their chemistry was fantastic! Maybe they could do something where Sarah has a daughter who somehow winds up in the Labyrinth, and Sarah has to find her??? And maybe they could make it more of an adult oriented film, and have Sarah and Jared hook up??? Okay, I'll stop here...I bet there's all kinds of dirty fanfic out there that picks up where that thought leaves off anyway! }(

I like the movie a lot, but whatup with those characters? They're all a bunch of enigmas who appear out of nowhere. The Sean Bean character in particular always mystifies me. Is he just a screw-up, or does he have some hidden agenda? A what was in that dang case anyway?

Both installments of Riget ended with cliffhangers. Von Trier didn't write the conclusion, because one of the lead actors died during hiatus, and von Trier said he could not continue the franchise without all the original characters.

41. How about "The Silmarillion"?
I know it sounds impossible. But LOTR also seemed "impossible"...and imagine the scenes. The Music of the Ainur...the creation of the world...the Two Trees, the great lamps...Morgoth stealing the Jewels...Thangorodrim...Berien and Luthiel...the War of Wrath...if done right, this could be a very great film...and if done wrong, unbearably bad...
