1. There's a guy from Venezuela competing in his 50s
He actually teaches in Idaho but is Venezuelan. When we was making his run, the commentator made it clear he thought he was too old. Stuff like, "these inexperienced people should be carefu;. Wouldn't want anyone to get hurt." But it was clear he was talking about his age.

6. Grandma Luge maybe the oldest woman
but we have one older!
quote.......
When Scott Baird (Bemidji, Minn.) takes part in his first competition of the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Torino, he will break an Olympic record set before he was born, becoming the oldest athlete to compete in an Olympic Winter Games. A member of the U.S. team in curling, Baird will be 54 years, 282 days old when he steps onto Sheet C at the Pinerolo Palaghiaccio on Feb. 13. In doing so, he will surpass the mark set by Great Britain’s James Coates, who was 53 years, 328 days old when he competed in Skeleton at the 1948 Olympic Winter Games in St. Moritz, Switzerland

7. Good for her!!
Show jumping has some aged performers...Ian Millar, Nelson Pessoa and Hugo Simon all competed at the Olympics, in their 60's...and don't think maneuvering a 1600 lb tank over jumps the size of a minivan is a small feat (in fact, Millar did so, in his 60's, with a broken ankle...)
